Clocker problems with Cubase 5.1.1 - dropping the MIDI interface.

Hey kids,

With the addition of some Euro(c)rack gear, screwing with time has become more appealing to me than ever. The other day I decided to fire up Cubase and send out some mangled clock to the 'rack.

However, after putting Clocker 1.0.0 on an Audio Track (inserted as an Effect) , using the proper MIDI output and hitting 'play', the MIDI interface was shortly dropped from Cubase.

No longer was my M-Audio MidiSport 8/8 showing up as a device. However, the MidiSport 8/8 still functioned in my system, as LUIPlus (an editor for the Yamaha DSP Factory) still worked perfectly with my CMELabs MotorMix.

Anyone else experienced quirks using Cubase 5.1.1 and Clocker 1.0.0? Bueller?

Cheers,
Erik

Sounds like a Cubase bug to me. What do Steinberg say?

If you want to send clock to Eurorack gear though, why not use Silent Way?

I figured I'd ask here first, since I do not have this problem unless I am using Clocker.

I already have a Doepfer A-190 MCV and a 4ms Rotating Clock Divider, so that does enough for what I need. I was just looking to use Clocker to screw with the clock going to the MCV - nothing major.

Clocker simply sends MIDI clock direct to the interface - if this causes Cubase to drop the interface, that has to be Cubase's decision. Or Windows, I suppose (I'm assuming you're on Windows here, correct me if I'm wrong).

Oh, I'm a Windows guy.

I'll probably have to pop on the Cubase forums - now I'm getting a weird situation where my Eurorack locks up if I send it two sources of MIDI (post on 'Wiggler about it here).

Thanks, os!
