Have you tried the Roland TD-9 or TD-4 with mesh pads and/or rubber pads? I'm wondering how V-drums compare with your Alesis kit (in your opinion) in terms of feel and response. Could you give any feedback :?:
Yes I have, my buddy has the rolands!! These alesis are pretty much the same now, the heads are tunable for response, all 3 trigger pads..I think alesis was trying to copy the rolands and I think they did for a way better price..the cool thing I like Is that you don't get charged for a module full of crap drum sounds, the usb pro kit has no drum sounds, it is meant just for plugin drums on your computer!!

Yeah... unless it costs OVER $50,000 just to stay in business each month... and costs a quarter of a million dollars or more to MAKE the product! You really have to love what you do to be in this niche business. But if you do then that makes all the difference.

We do.

NO thanks, I would not want the pressure, I have thought about selling midi loops to people that don't/cant play though, or just.wav loops, would be a PITA to get started though and there are so many out there!!

Yeah. If you look at things from a smart business perspective, all you have to do is make something that a million people want for $.99 Why limit yourself to JUST the people that know what VST stands for? ;)

I am a sort of inventor at heart and should probably release one of my everyday inventions to help fund soundware development. I think Harry Chamberlin did when he made the Chamberlin. He made some invention for the car windshield wiper or something like and it funded his big pre-Mellotron contraptions... otherwise how could he make those crazy expensive beasts?

I actually do a little bit of consulting on the side with ideas for other businesses - product names, company names, restaurant menus, marketing and product invention concepts. I've just started doing it seriously. Some of them are extremely practical. Maybe you'll see me on an infommercial saying "Let's see how this little gizmo works... it slices, it dices... but wait there's more!". But seriously I helped invent a broom and a dustpan that will sweep you off your feet! ;) I'm not kidding.

Lower the GB2 price to $1, extend it to the end of April, see if a quarter of a million people join. Presto, you covered your cost.

Cheers
