I am pretty suer this IP installer is the same as the last one that was fixed, so no need to re-download it!!

oh, i thought Squids was putting something for people to download that fixed the recent file/folder heirarchy issue. am i confused? probably am confused.
That one is up on esoundz now. The USD2Patch one.

ok, you mean this one:

USD2 Patches: Phase 1

I didn't know if Squids was going to put a file with a different name, a la global patch update #1 or something. cool, i'll just redownload it and shove it in to the installer. thanks for the help!

:)

The zip with the patches just reappeared, I downloaded it this morning, then it was gone for a while. I will now download it again after Squids explained the error which happened.

"search filesystem" Works for me to but it sucks having to do it everytime you load a kit, am I doing something wrong?

Hi Squids,

when I add the free DVD upgrade in my cart (http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4237, and I previously joined the current $99 GB), there's an extra $15 shipping charge required for the international shipping (and I can't select any other international shipping option than the $15 one).

Did I miss something about the international shipping fees for the DVD?

Thank you for your answer, Squids!!!

Only the first time... then save the kit back and it will save all the new filenames back. files->save as iirc, it will already have the name, just hit OK. next time you load, it will already know where they are. It's good to know anyways... i am going through and rearranging my instruments/multis hierarchy so that I can use the arrows in kontakt to quickly change instruments... and though I haven't had this yet (which is mysterious.... I thought the multi pointed to instruments, and the instruments to samples... but it looks like the multi points directly to samples... as even if I move the instruments, the old multis still load normally and the arrows don't work. If I delete and reload a single instrument in a multi, then the arrows work).

But yeah... just save the multi after it loads.

Very cool..thanks a lot..I did think of that but I did not want to mess anything up!! I really do appreciate it!!

EDIT: Just tried it and worked perfect..thanks again!!!! I can only hope to get doing things with this like you are...are you loading kits and then replacing certain samples? I dont understand what the arrows are for/supposed to do!!

honestly, I just started working on this today, but I got it to work with a couple of instruments. i know some other guys (zedd?) around here already set up this way, which inspired me to try it too.

by default, the folders are set up so that all the instruments for one multi are in one folder - say, the DM2 Chicago folder has DM2 Chicago Kick, DM2 Chicago Snare, DM2 Chicago Hat, etc. That's not very useful.

If you set it up differently so that, for example, you have a Kicks folder that has DM2 Chicago Kick, DM2 Bonham Ludwig Kick, DM2 Dr Nirvana Kick, etc. then clicking on the arrow will swap that instrument with the next one in the list, making it easy to try swapping out just the snare in the kit for instance. I got this to work with a couple of snares today, but I think I'm going to have to rebuild all the multis to make this work, not fun :( I think there is a drop-down too which lets you select from a list, forgot to see if that worked earlier. You can always do it the long way (delete instrument, find instrument in the browser, load it) but the arrows are easier.

Empty your browsers cache and try again. There shouldn't be any shipping charge for the DVD. If you could try again and let me know if you get the same problem. You can always contact me directly for anything related to shipping/ordering issues. allen (at) esoundz (dot) com

Sounds like a PITA but would be nice to be able to do!! Good luck, I hope it works out for you!! thanks again for the "Save" tip!!

Kontakt also has a "Batch Resave" function which will simplify operations like the one mentioned above. No need to resave each Multi seperately.

Hi Allen,

thank you for you reply! It works :)

Now, if I add the 1st GB's DVD upgrade to my order, then the international shipping charge becomes $15, and actually the total is $75 (= $10(GB2's DVD) + $50(GB1's DVD) + $15(shipping for GB1's DVD): is that right, or is there any combined shipping-fees option I'm missing?

Once again, thank you for your reply, Allen & Squids!!!

Yes, but guys don't do it. Don't do the search for samples thing or the batch resave. Things can re-reference incorrectly and then you'll just end up wanting to go back to the patch zip when you realize that (such as with the Ed Greene Kit 1 and 2). Trust me, the BEST thing to do is to download the current USD2 Phase 1 Patch zip.

Earlier today it "disappeared" because as soon as we discovered the problem we took it down, fixed it and then replaced it. Actually they were supposed to put a 1_1 or 1.1 there but I guess that detailed got missed... sorry about that. In any case, the one that came BACK is now the right one.

Incidentally, the problem was VERY simple. It was just a missing folder that they needed to be in called "Ultimate Studio Drums 2" sub "Multi" and sub "Instruments". The individual kit folders needed to be within a folder called 'Ultimate Studio Drums 2" in each of the Multi and Instrument folders and I forgot to put that in there. Always something! But hey, it can happen. Not a big deal. You could even fix the issue yourself by simply making an "Ultimate Studio Drums 2" folder within the Instruments and Multis and putting the phase 1 kit folders into it. Done. No need to search samples or anything. But... you can also just download the Patch zip again which will do that for you (however you may want to delete the extra kit folders that were made from the previous zip if you don't want them out of that hierarchy).

Hey at least the controversy bumped this thread! Now you're all half way to 600 with 24 hours left. Will you make it? You think you can do it?

Okay, here's your chance to get EpiK DrumS kits a la carte on DVD (they are too large to download - they range up to 20 gigabtes each!). The kits are only being offered for a few weeks pre-release and then may come back later and be a permanent product or not. They're called "Special Edition Artist Paks" and they have the multitrack kits of the 5 drummers from EpiK DrumS - A Ken Scott Collection.

Now, they are available for anyone to buy at $179 each. However, if you joined the Ultimate Studio Drums Bundle II: The Sequel (and you have only until tomorrow at 5pm Florida time to do so) then you qualify for a $50 off coupon making it only $129 each (and you can use that coupon on any of the 5 or all of the 5 if you want). The coupon code is: USD2EPIK

The links to the products (which have new demos btw courtesy of Dimitar) are here:

http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4241 [Terry Bozzio]

http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4240 [Rod Morgenstein]

http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4238 [Bill Cobham]

http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4239 [Bob Siebenberg - from Supertramp]

Oh and the best part is that they ship on Monday! You'll have it before everyone else.

So what folder should I delete before using the new patch? I used the new patch without deleting anything and it still looks for the samples!
