So what folder should I delete before using the new patch? I used the new patch without deleting anything and it still looks for the samples!
The patch updates only replace patches if they are in the same folder hierarchy. The issue with the first patch zip was simply that they skipped a folder they needed to be in. That folder, as I was saying, is called "Ultimate Studio Drums 2" and there's one within the Multis and there's one within the Instruments that the individual kit folders needed to be in for everything to line up. If you installed the current USD2 Phase 1 Patch zip then it would have made an "Ultimate Studio Drums 2" folder within your Multis and Instruments. So load from in there and they should work just fine.

As far as which ones to delete (either before or after - it doesn't matter), the ones you were loading from before that were installed accidentally outSIDE of the Ultimate Studio Drums 2 folder. So sub Multis that would be:

RingBeat STm Kit
Retro Soul STm Kit
NDV STm Mapx Drum Kit Stick
NDV Premr STm Kits
John Blackwell STm YamStick
Jerry Marotta STm Kit Yam
Jerry Marotta STm Kit Brush
Ed Greene STm Drum Kit 2
Ed Greene STm Drum Kit 1
Danny Gottlieb STm Drum Kit
Classic Rock STm Kit
British Rock STm Kit
Bonzo Hand STm Kits
Big Band Jazz STm Kit

You can remove those folders (the ones outSIDE of the Ultimate Studio Drums 2 within Multis... the ones INSIDE the Ultimate Studio Drums 2 folder within the Multis are the ones you keep! Those are the ones to load).

Again the same thing for these folders outSIDE of the Ultimate Studio Drums 2 folder that is within the INSTRUMENTS folder. They are:

RingBeat STm Kit
Retro Soul STm Kit
John Blackwell STm YamStick
NDV Premr STm Kits
NDV STm Mapx Drum Kit Stick
Jerry Marotta STm Kit Brush
Jerry Marotta STm Kit Yam
Classic Rock STm Kit
Danny Gottlieb STm Drum Kit
Ed Greene STm Drum Kit 1
Ed Greene STm Drum Kit 2
Bonzo Hand STm Kits
British Rock STm Kit

Shouldn't too hard as long as I explained it clearly enough here. Let me know.

To avoid confusion this is ONLY a concern for anyone who downloaded the USD2 Phase 1 Patch zip any time between last night and 3pm today. If you downloaded after that time just ignore all this... it'll work without even having to think about this... and also these are just patches. Not a big thing here and nothing to worry about. Kontakt is just particular about WHERE patches are in reference to the samples.

Phase 2 is almost ready but the team is gone for the day and we're still letting people download Phase 1 comfortably. So it will be tomorrow. But, let me tell you something... we took an extra day to cherry pick some excellent Impulse Responses out of a huge collection we're doing. To have these for free is pretty killer. They are completely different from the ones of the previous GB. And to have 150 of them is a LOT. We packed it in for ya. Also SquidiMidi. I have to see the total amount but that too is going to be more than expected. You deserve it and we appreciate everyone's support!

Great Group Buy! The threads were a little mellow compared to last time but we did break 500 and that is absolutely considered a successful group buy!

What's next? Well... something completely different for SampleTank users is coming soon but it isn't drums (or maybe a little bit) and... well, you'll see.

Are we still starting phase 2 tonight?

not a super big deal, but i just re-downloaded (as of around 7.20 PM) the following file:

ip-usd2phase1_inf.zip,

which is what you are talking about right?

i drug it to the infinite player installer, but it still didn't fix the problem of kontakt hunting for samples.

is there something else that i am supposed to get or did i download the wrong file? i don't see another candidate that i should have downloaded instead.

if it helps, when i look at the file information it says: last modified today at 1:43 PM. Is the file that is supposed to be on the download page the actual one there? is anyone else still having this problem?

not to be annoying.... thanks!

The new Patch zip does work. But it will install an "Ultimate Studio Drums 2" folder within your MULTIS. Look inside that folder and you will find all of the same kit folders you had just outside of that. The ones INSIDE the Ultimate Studio Drums 2 folder WILL reference fine. The ones outside were a mistake. You have to manually delete those or ignore them or do whatever you want with them. They installed into the wrong folder hierarchy by mistake. That WAS the error of the previous zip and that has since been fixed... and the fix was simply to make sure they were in an "Ultimate Studio Drums 2" folder because that was what it needed to see in the "path" to the samples.

I've explained it as clearly as I can here. If anyone still doesn't understand what to do - rather than repeat the same thing over and over in different words I think it is best - at least on THAT subject - to contact allen (at) esoundz (dot) com and he'll walk you through the whole thing and make sure it's all loading up just fine.

oh, ok that makes sense. Thanks Squid!

There is a very important kit missing from these options. Are you really gonna make me wait for it...? :x

Time to design a T-Shirt with a Squid holding weapons of torture in each tentacled arm: a whip, a bat with nails in it, a Tiny Tim record, etc.

now that i got round 1 of gb2 to work, i have to say these drums are pretty excellent. I love the british rock and the retro soul kits a ton!
Why'd you slice off my hand?

We have 555 signed up with a little over 9 hours to go. We need a day like we have a couple of days ago. We must have added 50 or more in one day. So here's to hoping we'll do it again!

Post

Just in case anyone needs help with the loading problem...I got mine to work!! I installed the NEW patch, then I went into me IP folder and deleted all the new kits in the MULTI and INSTRUMENT folders that were OUT SIDE of the new USD2 folder..if you look, the new kits are on the outside and inside of the folder, so just delete the ones outside of the USD2 folder...hope this helps!!!

Post

Ok guys/gals we are at 555 now, so it looks like we will get a 5th MT kit...lets hope we can get another 45 before the end of this Gb!!
