I'm really digging the sound of the polyKB
especially when I push it to more extreme
settings. It looks to be to pricey for me
at the moment (future no-brainer, perhaps
;-)?) but at a cheaper price I would most
definitely be interested. I didn't see
a manual anywhere. Is one available? I was
able by trial and error to figure out most
of the functions but something comprehensive
would be helpful.
Well done, Xavier!
Cheers,
Scott

The manual is very easy to find:rexlapin wrote:I'm really digging the sound of the polyKB

I don't know about you, but it's really hard to deal with parameters values. Still can't set 7 semitones.
All presets sounds a bit similar to me, BUT synth sounds very very interesting.

I'd say just move the knobs. You can fine tune the osc tune with Left Click While holding the SHIFT key too, if it helpsIgro wrote:I don't you about you, but it's really hard to deal with parameters values. Still can't set 7 semitones.
All presets are almost similar.
There will be more presets in the future, though I dont see the existing ones as similat by far, but well thats just my Pov.

Demo pieces are starting to appear on the XILS website. So far there's one from Georges Poropat and one from me - http://www.xils-lab.com/pages/PolyKB_Audio-Demos.html
It'll be interesting to see how these develop as we become more familiar with what's possible with the PolyKB. I found the stereo panning feature of the synth effective for some of the bells on my piece.

I agree!states wrote:ok... i just made the purchase and i am speechless !
this thing sounds so fat & organic !!! what Xavier's done with the waveform morphing is completely stunning !!! one of the greatest softsynths ever made !!
also, i love the fact the the GUI is so big as it does make editing sounds much easier ! great! truly brilliant contraption !!!
I bought mine...I would definately label this a 'Nex-Gen' synth that gurgles and burbles in a convincingly analog way.....
I personally like the GUI; it may not present the most obvious display of Polykb's inner-workings, but it's easy enough to sort things out and find your way around.
Conclusion: PolyKB is a 'No Brainer' in my book; it's a great-sounding vsti with a myriad of sonic possibilities.

as a matter of fact, i do own most of them. i have owned and still do own quite a bit of genuine hard analogue gear as well, sir.
that is, of course, not to undervalue the GForce masterpieces or the magnificent OPX.

Cant try it out. Having eLicenser problems
(a known issue with eLicenser). Disappointed!! I'm reaching the end of my tether with that damn dongle crap!"Use master server not slave server blah blah blah"

I think he's referring to the general quality of emulated analogue tone as opposed to the Polykobol specifically - probably you know that tho and are trying to be snide (as usual points scoring system in KVR). However there is after all a generally consistent vibe of analogue synths even tho they have their differences between them. Just as there is a generally consistent vibe between many plugin synths.Kriminal wrote:how do you know that, do you own one of the thirty that they made?states wrote:the most convincing analogue emu ever accomplished !
