Not sure in which forum to post this, but here it is:

http://www.wiretotheear.com/2010/04/02/ ... -for-ipad/

It's actually in the AppStore right now. So it's no April fool joke.

Imagine the next obvious step which must be inevitable:
Apple expands the audio plugin GUI capabilities so that you can control any of the audio plugins on your iPad screen using the plugin's own GUI. No more irritating midi controllers which suck at what they do. The future is here. Imagine if (when?) you could use several iPads at the same time to control different softsynths, eq's, drum machines, compressors, etc. at the same time :D
Misspellers of the world, unit!

Incredibly cool. Will be intersting to see where things will go from here.

This looks definitly fresh! Allthough it is refreshing to see these new apps for iphone / ipod / ipad I'm not that keen on blasting out getting one just for a music app. Specially when my PC holds all the music tools I ever need.
Best regards from Johan Brodd.

But it's cool to see this kind of controller on the iPad (cheaper).
The iPad have an Ethernet port ?

you mean like you can already on a computer...wow! :hihi:

Jazz Mutant makes no sound ?

Their strength is their software and integration, but at £1900 they won't be around for much longer with apps that will pop daily.

I read an interview with them and they are kinda delusional about the whole Ipad impact, if they cut their prices to realistic levels i'm sure they would sell a shitload.

I don't know. Isn't the unique selling point of computer technology having all the tools in one neat box?

Yeah, but with wireless multi-touch, so you're not confined to your desk and a mouse which can only manipulate one control at a time. 8)
You're bad... with my help, you could be the worst.

If Korg can do this why not also just release an AU/VST version....

They could probably make at least $49

iPad haters just need to shut up. Seriously isnt it getting a bit pathetic? You guys will probably still slam it as a useless piece of kit after it's been a huge success.

@Kriminal
You can do that already on your computer? I guess you have some sort of crisp, multi-touch screen hooked up to it then. Which means you're loaded.

iPad is NOT a PC, it's a blown up ipod touch and a wicked compact entertainment machine. Not to mention that it's dirt cheap compared to the competition.

i hope they do the whole electribe line in it
maybe even a "shell" that hosts all of them, synced, with fx, so you can run all of them at once to make music
(id go make a gig with just a couple ipads and wouldnt even feel ashamed as i was when i gigged with a laptop (thats why i moved to hardware only live rig, as soon as you integrate a computer, you're like well, live can do all that, non need to carry this HW, and become kindof boring (unless you are girltalk), since the ipad is no computer, and cant do anything, it will be easier to justify integrating it in my setup)
or act like software guys instead of hardware guys and make a real nice groovebox software with software controls instead of mimmicking the hardware (i HATE circular controls on a touch screen, and what a waste of real estate to draw the fake tubes)

"i HATE circular controls on a touch screen"
not only on touchscreen, mouse+circular are bad too!
A colleague using Usine intensively said the size and switches
density is important too, especially with a multi-point touchscreen.
