We've been busy here at HS Towers and multi-sampled a new sound from Dan's Novachord which we've decided to make available as a FreePack for everyone to enjoy (well ... everyone who uses Kontakt 3 that is!).

It is available HERE.

The page describes it all but, to summarise, it's a fabulous, mellow string patch from the 1939 Novachord with some variations on the theme that allow you to enjoy the quirky, idiosyncratic, sometimes 'cronky' but overall lush wonders of this, the oldest synth ever to have been sampled in all its valvular glory!

Yes indeed, fabulous! I truly love the whole concept of those Novachord samples.Purchased them all without any hesitation . Very usefull and very enchanting... A really intriguing instrument. Thanks for that marvellous library!

Hi Pieter - so very glad you like the results. This really has been a very special experience for me. I really never thought the fruits of our labour would turn out as rewarding as this. It has taken me over 250 hours of intensive initial restoration work to get to this stage and probably double this for Steve and I to make the sample archive.

The instrument now takes pride of place in my living room and really does look stunning. Although the restoration is not complete, Novachord 346 is a delight to play. The sampled version is just mind blowing because it allows you to take the Novachord to a whole new level and overcomes some of it's shortcomings in the process such as noise and detuning issues.

We've done our level best to immortalise this wonderful instrument and I hope all will enjoy the results for years to come.
