When it works fine with everything else. I don't know what to tell you.masstronaut wrote:How do you propose that Apple get Flash 'to work well' when they are not producing the code? What do you think it is about Mac OS-X that means Flash doesn't work well, as you seem to think it doesn't? Surely nothing at all to with Adobe's code, hmmm. The Chase wrote:It does work well. It works well for 95% of the market share. It's not adobe's job to make macs run it better when it works well on linux, windows, and other smartphone OS's.masstronaut wrote:Surely it would be Adobe's job to get Flash to work well, seeing as they make it.The Chase wrote:It might also have to do with how apple's never really gotten flash to work well. Anyone with a macbook will tell you that a simple transparent task like watching youtube will heat it up too hot for your lap.
Light on the CPU.masstronaut wrote:Also how is watching youtube 'transparent'? What does that even mean?

No, I guess not. You do realise that Apple don't make Flash though? The Chase wrote:I don't know what to tell you.

How exactly? PC's are what, 90% market share? Why don't you create a Flash based media distribution site and compete with Itunes if all it takes is Flash. Your absurd argument is "balls". I like how the guys that love PC's and hate Macs because the Mac is a "closed" system are arguing for a media format that is a "closed" system. I like the fact that when HTML 5 is finally adapted I could create media content without spending $300 on an app.stk wrote:Balls. The REAL reason Apple won't EVER support Flash on the iPad/Phone is because it would swiftly destroy their appstore monopoly.Henry Greer wrote:The reason Apple won't EVER support Flash on the iPad/Phone is because they are going to be using HTML 5 when it comes out.
For better or worse, I dunno, and could care less.

I think people become invested in their positions -- some more than others -- and then the emotions begin to affect what had been a respectful discussion. As always, it's not the disagreeing but how it's done.

My point was/is this: If the i-thingies ran Flash, everyone and their dog (who knew as/flash) could easily hack together their own apps, bypassing the controlfreak paranoid mumbo-jumbo of the developers kit, and the distribution bottleneck of the iTunes / Appstore.
BTW I own and use windows PCs and a Mac, so you can't pull that emo macboy shit on me
