Thanks Squids!! Will we need to download a samples file also or was that all in the first one?
You need to download the new Percussion samples zip.

But, we noticed an issue with the Bruford kit not being recognized as Infinite Player format so we're fixing that and the Phase 2 Patch zip will come back... you'll want to redownload it when we're done... easy small file though and drag and drop will replace and fix once we have that sorted. Sorry about that.

I've been in every Drum Masters group buy to date (come on, my screen name is eDrummist, so of course, I have major G.A.S. for drum samples). Consequently, I have A LOT of the DM1 multi-track kits and a good deal of the STm kits. So, now that I clicked to select kits, I realize that not having followed this thread all the way through has caught up with me! (FTR, I did read through the last 10 pages but didn't find the answer to my question, stated below.)

So, Squids or anyone who knows the answer: Since I have a bunch of DM1 multi-track versions of the (DM2 multi-track) kits offered for selection, I am unclear if the DM2 multi-track versions have additional samples from the DM1 versions.

Thanks in advance for the reply!

I'm in the same boat but I do remember the scripts ONLY from Drum Masters GB will be updated only at no charge and the additional snares and scripts are not free.
That said I would think the DM2 bonus multitracks are the full version. IOW, Ringbeats for example from Drum Master is not the same totally as the DM2 Ringbeats unless you pay for the upgrade.

"Drum Masters 1 users of all kits will get a free patch update with Drum Masters 2 scripts for each of the kits they own whether they bought them a la carte or in a group buy or in the Silver, Gold or Platinum packages."

"There is NEW sample content in Drum Masters 2 Multitrack and Drum Masters 2 Platinum. To get the new samples of style kits, extra snares and any extra artist kits (such as the Jerry Marotta Taos kit in the Platinum) here are the upgrade prices"
RingBeats is the same as it ever was, same as it ever was... just new patches. That is a FREE DM2 patch update coming (probably by the end of this week) to any DM1 user who owns the RingBeat kit. So don't choose that one!

There's no swapping out though from what you get in this group buy however. So if there are bonus kits that you already have then you just have to skip those or pick them to have them now with the new patches or... not much you can do really but hopefully if you joined this GB there was enough value in stuff you definitely don't have to make it worth the $99... that's the idea. Of course for someone new who didn't have any of it the deal is just that much more amazing... but if you're a Drum Masters user in the first place then you know the deal was amazing to begin with even without the bonus kits.

Edit: Clarification.
Same samples, different patches with different scripts. The NKX are exactly the same but there are more samples pulled FROM that NKX that were not used or used in the same way in the original.

So try to pick kits you don't already have. ;)
Thanks Squids!

I hope it won't be long before the next GB! These things are quite addictive. :D

jarrydee wrote:ok, as I watch these new kits load they are loading mostly samples from the other kits..are these new patches supposed to be hybrid kits?
Yes they are partial hybrid kits but they have elements from the drummer such as the Chambers snare and a particular kick or other kit piece, a Copeland signature snare and Octabons mixed with the Tama Star Classic from John Blackwell... so, a lot of the kits in Phase 2 mix and match pieces from other kit samples. That is why we had you guys all download the main sample sets first so you'd have them... although you DO need to download that Percussion zip. I didn't get a chance to tell you yet and an email is going out soon with more info.

But if there are STILL missing samples happening when loading a kit after you HAVE installed the percussion zip (the one that is 59 megs) AND if any kits are having missing TGAS - please let me know specifically which as soon as possible. We took the Phase 2 patch zip down to fix the Bruford demo mode issue but we'll address the others asap and get the whole thing back up there fixed and ready for mass consumption. Sorry, Kontakt is very tricky the way we're doing it with custom modular approach and there are a lot of things that all have to line up just right on our end... this one particularly was probably my fault over the weekend on my own machine with reference issues. But, still, we will have it resolved shortly. It would just be faster if you guys are more specific about which kits have the TGA problem AND if any of them are having a problem finding samples AFTER you have indeed installed that Percussion samples zip. Thanks!

No there was no grip just only asking as a question. I already have the MT kits offered in the bonus, so there's no need to download the bonus MT kits. I thought that was the case.

But your right, the GB alone for $99 was well worth the price so whether we hit 300,400..ect was not important once we hit the rock bottom price $99. The other bonus of 1000 midi loops and convolution reverbs, I did like them though.

As a suggestion on the next GB perhaps you can offer bonuses with a choice of rewards. One for the newbies and another for the veterans. This way everyone has a stake in helping you maximizing sales. :hihi: Just a thought :D

I loaded the Phase 2 and Percussion zips but I'm getting missing samples when I load the Timbale kit. I haven't checked others.

The Phase 2 zip is no longer showing up in my download area. I can only assume something was wrong with it and you guys removed it in order to replace it with one that works. Is that right?

Never mind. I guess I should have read what you wrote. I just want to mention that the Timbale kit wasn't working either.

Thanks

Haha. Well, the next group buy is actually NOT about drums... well only a little bit but mostly about something else entirely. More news about that coming up but it doesn't relate so much to this really...

What DOES relate to this (in case anyone is - hopefully - addicted) is the actual RELEASE of Drum Masters 2 Multitrack, Platinum, EpiK DrumS - A Ken Scott Collection, Neil Peart Drums and some more Signature Expansions such as Percussion, Snares, Cymbals, Hats... lots of cool stuff coming!

Yes, we always try to think of that! But there are veterans and there are MEGA veterans... one way or another we try to have something for them all!

I think the mega veterans will like the upcoming upgrade offers for DM1 Gold and Platinum users plus some other things down the pike.

How 'bout getting this one to work.

I have to say that this entire process has been unpleasant, confusing and needlessly time consuming. Somehow you guys need to make it less convoluted.

Seriously, this is nothing personal. I'm just telling you my experience being a first-time customer of your product.

The drums, however, sound great.

Thanks.

Aha, okay excellent. Thanks X-dark. Yes you guys ARE missing the "Extra Snares 2" zip which will cover the missing snares.

The Bruford Infinite Player kit has been fixed so it doesn't go into demo mode.

We're re-referencing the TGAs and then the Phase 2 Patch zip will be back up on line! Also an Extra Snares 2 zip which you guys will need to download... whew! A lot of stuff!!!! But, worth the wait. These kits I really had fun with tweaking out over the weekend. Sadly, my computer which is used for other development stuff had some other things on it which caused the issues with the referencing but... I just work here! ;)

I will let you know when we have it up but thanks again for the list. Sped things up tremendously!

We do our best. Most Kontakt Player products do not let you do it this "custom" and "a la carte" so we have to forge our own way, making our own installers and getting everything to line up in a product custom made just for a group buy. That's a big thing! You don't see too many companies doing that... because it is partially insane! But that's the only way to get such a good deal, so much for your money and even some exclusive one of a kind features/content that isn't even in the MAIN product release (this is not the MAIN product release by the way... "Ultimate Studio Drums" bundles are for these past two group buys only and are NO LONGER available to the public now).

So, maybe you didn't realize this was a custom made product perhaps... or the relative value difference (ie. Sonic Reality normally makes products like Ocean Way Drums and EpiK DrumS that sell for $500-$1,500 each) but a few minor hassles just to get it all together (you can even just opt for the DVD option which ships out tomorrow and was FREE... and with no hassles... this is just for the anxious ones who want to download right away - hopefully problem free but we're not the first soundware/software company to have bugs to fix!). I don't know what you'd be comparing to and if it is really apples to apples since virtually no other company does things quite like THIS but... in any case, we hope you see the big picture here and can appreciate the incredible value for the money. You love the sounds of the drums! That's good. So it is just a matter of everything lining up just right... it is complex and this product is hot out of the oven. A few EASY fixes, smooth downloading (which took us a major overhaul last time to be able to offer this time) and a lot of other quick resolutions in order to be able to offer so MANY people a great deal like this so efficiently.

In fact, I'd say it was going pretty well compared to ourselves in the past and other mass download/modular content products I've seen. It can be chaotic but on the other hand this is the future and cutting edge stuff we're talking about here! We hope it is worth it for you for the benefits you get from it all.

Hopefully this (The new zips) will take care of the "missing samples" in the Drum Doc, Hot Timbale and Mower Black Beauty kits?

Post

tull1996 wrote:Hopefully this (The new zips) will take care of the "missing samples" in the Drum Doc, Hot Timbale and Mower Black Beauty kits?
Yes, it should but we're checking that right now. There are likely going to be TWO new zips. One that replaces the Phase 2 Patches from earlier today. That is an easy - drag and drop and it replaces and fixes any previous issues. The other, as I said just previously, is a samples zip called "Extra Snares 2". These have the extra snares that those kits are looking for.

That's the trick with making this modular. You have to have EVERYTHING installed for all the patches to find the samples. But the Extra Snares part 2 was missing so... cart before the horse there. Please bear with us. We'll have it up shortly.
