I thought maybe I shall not write anything and not be so negative...but....

But all I thought was "will they make a version for grown-ups as well ?".
The whole visual style (comicstyle) and the explantion of the simplest things (what a piano roll can do..)...

Didn't feel to me as if I was the target group.

Not interested in it so far.

I think it looks awesome. I've got friends all over the world who play various instruments (voices, included). This looks like it will make collaboration much simpler. And for all of you who have been craving some nice ukulele on your tracks but don't know anyone nearby...

What I first thought was: "Very clever,the first really uncrackable DAW..." This means that at least for the price you get to belong to a club whose members are serious enough about their music to be willing to pày for a collaborating on line service...

Well see how successful that actually is...

i had been wondering what the whOMHderboys had been up to lately

my 2 cents:
- i hope it's possible to work offline.
when e.g. a vocalist records a take, it shouldn't be uploaded automatically IMO, as it may just be a terrible take.

- if i were to make a track in Ohm Studio, i wouldn't like it to be stored online only.
* i'd like to be able to work on a DAW with no internet connection (i prefer not to have internet on my DAW)
* i'd like to have my track sitting on my hard disk, so that if anything goes wrong with my internet conection, or the Ohm Studio server, or - heaven forbid - Ohm Force itself, i don't lose my work.

if i ever have time to make music again, and Ohm Studio turns out to be as feature packed as other hosts, i'd buy it, cause:
- Ohm Force excels at innovating,
- Ohm Force has a good customer service,
- Ohm Force doesn't force dongles up mine,
- the online collaboration thing could mean i finally get some good vocals on my tracks

EDIT: seems i got it wrong in that Ohm Studio itself would reside on the server only? in that case, i would be hesitant to use it as primary host. i'd rather upload bounced mixes to it, so that, no matter what happens, i don't lose my work and host.
also, when someone adds a performance and the Project's owner doesn't like it and reverts, the performance would be lost to all?

Hopefully everybody that has a firewire interface and is on Windows has a wired network connection. When the wireless card is active lots of people still get pops, crackles, and drop outs. That could be a big downfall for the laptop guys that disable their wireless when working on audio because you won't be able to use the DAW software. Just a thought.

Didn't know about nuendo, but pd isn't necessary the tool for sequencing.. At least not at my level of programming.

I just wish they stop making all these complicated online system and just give us the same thing for LAN. The biggest pain in the ass is 1+ people trying to work on the same daw in the same room at the same time.

That would work, too. The computers on your LAN have to be connected to the Internets, but you can collaborate with people in the same room. Technically speaking, the issues are almost the same.

Sure, if your assumption is everyone has ultra-fast internet everywhere. I see the point of keeping everything central online, but for me anyway, letting the lag dictate how fast we work isn't my idea of fun.

Then again you guys probably trying to solve a different problem then my wish, cool nevertheless.. If it works
