Magix Vandal amp sim = Winner in terms of sound quality so far

Steviebone, I brought up questions concerning your thoughts on remote operation on the Samp forum a while back. I spent a lot of time trying to automate the wah and was disapointed because I couldn't and that's using Samplitude. As I recall sascha said he was already on that

Well at last I see some people who can hear the difference as well ! well "Steviebone" and "Hink" explained the situation with Vandal very well. And I do agree with them overall.
Dear "shogger" I will try to find some time to record something, but I have no idea when can I do it for honestly even 24 hours per day is not enough for me as these days I'm too busy. this is 12:00 am here in Australia and I just came back home 30 mins ago.. .
Dear Redshift, well about the different sounding amps in AT (though AT is one of my all time fav amp sim)though I believe their sound is good I do know as well that its just different patterns of filtering, I won't use the term "LAME ATTEMPT" but well I actually can get a same exact sound off of almost all the amps in AT more or less tbh.
"at the circuit level and..." well to be honest all the amp sim companies these days claims that and while Vandal and some other smaller companies out there did not have that HUGE bells and whistles as AT had, I can and I'm sure many can get that EXACT TONE of many classic amps with some right tweaking and settings, and right gear/instrument/system. For instance I just loaded up the JCM800 as I said before in my previous post in Vandal and after some tweaking with the help of it's great range of amps and tone palette, I just got THAT sound which was 90% close and identical to my real JVM800 which I'm in love with it for years. I'm not saying I can not get a good sound out of AT, but I can get the same good sound out of MANY amp sims around, sometime with even better result as in the case of Vandal.
"This sounds like IK Multimiedia's Dynamic Saturation Modeling" you said.
Sorry bro but these are all commercial bullshits, the important thing is the SOUND that can please the EARS, that can sit in the mix great, I do not care what name you want to call it or what the developer did to get there. DSM, COSM or whatever from BOSS and so on.. at the end of the day we are all judging by our ears not what they feed us by advertisement.
And btw if you believe only Amplitube is for professionals then let me assure you that Vandal and Studio Devil and even some of those Free amps sims around are at at the same level or even higher level of professionalism. Just don't be quite closed minded, try em all and HEAR again. But if after that you still want to limit yourself to only amplitube well my friend that's your choice for your ears. Btw I never ever limit myself or my tone palette to only Amplitube or Vandal or any other single plug-in, I use all the good shits, at the right time and right place.
Cheers

We have the pictures, the tons of gear, the reputation and skilled personnel, and testing equipment that our engineers use, the many lines of code, and the meticulous methodology we follow - all to do exactly what we say at the circuit level and it is not "commercial bullshits" in the least and the sound also stands up and speaks for itself here (as you can see by many folks who do quite enjoy it, including yourself as you say). As for mere "filtering" you should really do more research before making allegations of that nature, as they are completely false and not taken lightly. I post clearly as a representative of the company with any affiliation clear too, if you catch MY drift, and it would be great if everybody else did.

Well,
I think that the OP is saying shit about the modeling techniques from others amp-sim makers.
What do he knows ? Nothing, that's it.
Only people who have deaf ears can believe him, really.
It's useless to continue the discussion IMHO.
Wishing you a happy day tough...

I think it should be clear to anybody with some deductive skills at this time that Silenceborn is affiliated with Vandal in some fashion. He simply doesn't have enough subtlety in his posts to disguise it appropriately, and is indeed an inept shill.
Silenceborn you need to come on out and identify your bias so that we can proceed intelligently about the merits of your program, much like the folks at IK Multimedia have done. You are disrespecting the process and the amp sim community in your attempts, and can only do harm to Vandals chance of success by continuing this charade.

Well as I said before many times in my previous posts, I'm not a pro in pro audio terms, I'm an experienced guitar player, own more than 10 real world amps and gears and so on. I have spent lots of money for my software and gears and I'm getting quite good results as these days music and audio technology is at pick. Well it could be better as you said Peter to research more about the pro terms, so here I do agree with you and you are right here, BUT MY EARS for my taste can not be wrong
.. anyway thank you for Amplitube, especially the last version which is wonderful, thank you for all the hard works and keep up the great work, I'm and old IK customer and I'm proud of it. BUT since last week I'm doing and using Vandal for almost all the new project beside all the other plug-ins I own included AT3, and the reason as I mentioned before is the Vandal's sound quality is much better to my ears. Anyway I'm happy for all people out there who are using AT or any other amp sim and getting great results as well. at the end of the day all the important thing is the RESULT! and ofc TASTE ! .
And you dear K-Slash, you really need to try harder m8, well judging about people like that won't solve your problems m8, as I see that's a horrible one, btw whats the benefit of having NON-DEAF ears as you obviously have but lacks a RIGHT MIND to use it ?
Anyway I hope all people here and there could experience the life without any kind of prejudice and respect each others opinion cuz that's the first important aspect and sign of a civilized community.
At the end sorry again for my bad English. Its getting better though.
Cheers !

Well I have heard the Conspiracy theories has too many fans these days, Well bro you are probably one of the fans really, I do not care what you or other people think here, the thing is I AM FREE TO EXPRESS MYSELF HERE and wherever I want and not even GOD himself can stop me, so don't be child and grow up or at least keep your mouth shut when you don't know how to use it.punkfest2000 wrote:Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:We have the pictures, the tons of gear, the reputation and skilled personnel, and testing equipment that our engineers use, the many lines of code, and the meticulous methodology we follow - all to do exactly what we say at the circuit level and it is not "commercial bullshits" in the least and the sound also stands up and speaks for itself here (as you can see by many folks who do quite enjoy it, including yourself as you say). Btw just for making everything clear for people, as I said before in my posts, I AM NOT working or related to any company at all, I'm just another guy on the planet who enjoy playing with gears and making and enjoying music
Cheers and Good luck

How would we know that. Perhaps you should put it in your screen name.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: I post clearly as a representative of the company with any affiliation clear too, if you catch MY drift, and it would be great if everybody else did.
I use Eleven Rack and Ampitube 3 exclusively. With an endorsement like that, I think we can consider the case closed.
On a serious note, so much goes on with a guitar rig BEFORE it even gets to the amp sim that it is not a mystery why some people hear different results (albeit sometimes nuanced) from the same software. The guitar itself, the pups and the DI/Input all have an effect on the signal chain.
A little trick I learned from a couple of serious guitar players is to get yourself a "Dragster" from Radial. Originaly designed to correct the load on wireless set ups, it does a nice job of giving you some control of the impedence going into the box allowing you to brighten or darken the sound accordingly. Can be very helpful in subtlely taking the "mud" out or reducing the fizz and britleness of a particular guitar/pick-up/input/sim setting.

None of this substantiates the claims that our software simply uses filters and our keystone technology is "commercial bullshits" though - that was the point I was trying to make while respecting the valid point about personal taste. We all should respect what is taste, of course, and I certainly do (and I'm glad you do like AmpliTube 3 of course, thank you for kind words) - but it would behoove you to leave it at that and not make unsubstantiated and false claims as to how a company creates its product.Silenceborn wrote:Well as I said before many times in my previous posts, I'm not a pro in pro audio terms, I'm an experienced guitar player, own more than 10 real world amps and gears and so on. I'm pretty critical of Magix even though I love Samplitude, I think they are improving their business model but I still am very critical of them. With that said, at their worst moment I do not believe they would stoop this level at all.punkfest2000 wrote:Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:We have the pictures, the tons of gear, the reputation and skilled personnel, and testing equipment that our engineers use, the many lines of code, and the meticulous methodology we follow - all to do exactly what we say at the circuit level and it is not "commercial bullshits" in the least and the sound also stands up and speaks for itself here (as you can see by many folks who do quite enjoy it, including yourself as you say). More important though (and why this is larger), sascha who is the developer of Vandal doesn't need to stoop to these levels. His pluggins speak for themselves, extremely well thought out and tremendous pluggins, each and every one of them. He also is a developer who is quick to respond to users questions and on hand here and on Magix forums. He listens to the customers, the users and there is just no way imo he would permit this kind of tactic. He simply has too much pride in his work and the product he puts out

Well, thank you Peter but as a free man in a free country I can express my feelings though they may be wrong or even non-sense for others. that is my right to say what I think even if it may lack knowledge. Anyway as I said before I just enjoy making music with all my gears, and I hope we all try our best to keep our eyes more OPEN to not get entraped by the forces of the conspiracy theoreticians.

You can express opinion but you state as fact how we do things and you are completely incorrect and should substantiate your claims. Feel free to do so, or accept that I've corrected it. I can see if the folks in Italy would show you some things about how they do it if you'd like to visit - please PM me if you want to do so. Thanks!
Edit - you state you KNOW, yet I've corrected the statement that it is indeed NOT the way we do it:

Edit: just looked it up, seems to be a bit of a no braner at 50 bux. Though it seems more geared to passive guitars.
