I think you only get an extra library if you bought sampletank from esoundz....That's the way I read his statement.

SampleTank 2..5.4 in your IKMM Downloads Area

Even if you have not yet joined this GB.
Released On 13-04-2010
Changes since version 2.5.3:

• Fixed possible crash when plug-in was deinstantiated on VST Mac.
• Fixed default master panning position
• General maintenance update
It's a 35.8MB .zip file !

Mostly updated combis (.ikmp files), I think. So make a copy first if you have changed them.

Does anyone want to offer a review of one of the packs they've purchased or the free Sampletank XT library they're giving away?

Koolkeys told us a few pages back about the vocal pack. I'm tying to decide...so if you've got one or three of these, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the packs you have.

Thanks!

Hello i have the piano pack 2,strings pack 2 and bass pack 2 (all sample).

I have only tried the piano and strings pack . I found the sound really good, and especially the 'Home made piano' in the piano collection 2 (sound really dark and insane),the string are really good too.The free XT lib is good,i think it's a 'mini best of' of ik multimedia. These two pack are General-purposen ,I make dark music so it sound dark but if you want to make something else with it,you can. This Group buy is a no brain deal , :tu: ,just buy ,don't worry ,the sound will be good.

the hip hop instrument pack contains classic synths, drums, guitar, and orchestra that made their way into hip hop. this is a set that will do well in in many styles

the arp pack is both cheese and fondue. it goes from chip tune to pink floyd. there are a lot of options. there is a string of sounds that model real world instruments. before you roll your eyes, know that the difference is so great that the names are just a way to find the type of sound you need. then, when tweaked by the powerful st, they become chocolate covered doughnuts with sprinkles

symphony strings 2 has a lot of layering options. say you want a solo violin to be joined by 2 more and then 4 more and eventually a large section. that can be done, and all the violinists will sound different. you can also tack on some extra attack for power. as well there are a lot of instant gratification sounds. these are what i'll use the most, as strings usually don't have a lead role in my electronica. however, these sounds can steal the show

I finally got a chance to run through the World Instruments pack and this one definitely fills some holes in my sample library. Cool percussion, wind, and stringed instruments there.

the free pack comes with selections from miroslav philharmonik, sample moog, sample tank 2, sample tron, sonik synth2. these are usable sounds, as ik wants to hook you (i'm hooked)

if you're like me and had an old sample tank demo that stopped working, you'll appreciate the return of some missed sounds. the hq piano is back!

there's also a small bread and butter xt instrument section

the pack has a few loops. the loops are individual parts that don't really go beyond 1 part of a song. there are loop slices as well, which seem limited to me. i should note that i don't work with either loops or slices, so i'm not qualified to rate these

Debating on the 3rd choice... hmmm... I may have to use more of those JamPoints and join again... :help:

Here's a repost of my Vintage Keyboard Collection 2 review from a few pages ago:

I just checked out Vintage Keyboard Collection 2 (cause I'm an electric piano junky) and there's some good stuff on there. The LA Wurly and Rhodes patches are nice variations on what I already have. There really is a cool vintage vibe (no pun intended) on these patches. Then there's really cool stuff like the Tony Banks Watcher patches, an unexpected surprise with the Keybass patch, and the CP70 and 80. Needless to say, I'm very pleased. I've got a Rhodes Mark I and a Wurlitzer 120 and a bunch of sample libraries and PM VSTi's and I don't feel like this collection duplicates anything I already have.

Wow, thanks for all the reviews. I was hoping someone would say "don't get this one!" so my decision would be easier...but no luck so far.

I'm definitely in for this deal...I just have to figure out which packs. I've got my eye on World, Arp, Vocal, Symphony, Cinematik...maybe the Vintage Keys....oh, and the sevenites loop pack. Sigh....too many good choices.

Keep the reviews comin' and thanks to those who've offered their views so far!
