You could have said you were about to "sample it."
Well, our motto is "Sample Everything" and it is a double entendre. Works for food too!

I would just hate this thread, one which has become the primary thread for this group buy, to get sucked into a big argument.

Not trying to get on anyone. I just think the thread will suffer if those who aren't involved in the issue make it worse.

Cheers.

Well said Brent. I agree. Let's all get along and enjoy this!

Peace.

Noffing. Read "tell" as "yell". Haha. Please ignore me. :)

This might be a tough thing to do, but is there any way that you could break-out what 'Xpansion Tank' material came from which GB?

I'm worried that I'll buy the same ST stuff that I already have.

Thanks!

Let me see if I can lighten the mood.....or kill it all together.

Combis? Did someone say Combis? I just loaded a set of 20 combis using "only" the XT content that comes with this group buy. Certainly not in the same quality waters as Squids but hey I had fun making them. Hopefully someone will have fun playing them as well. :D

(Why are SampleTank Combis so big? 20 presets weighs in at about 4 megs)

You could have said you were about to "sample it."

But, if you had, 'androidlove' would have come back and complained about that sample, too.
I know you are just joking a bit, but maybe it's not a good thing for this thread to keep egging the situation on?

Yes, dad.

You don't have to yell at me and stuff.

If you took my comments as anything other than concern for the thread, you are reading too far into them. I just don't see how the thread will benefit, as well as the sale. Nothing more. No need to get sarcastic or anything, is there? It wasn't personal in any way.

I'm in. Seems like a great deal to me. I am going to start with the vocal library because I don't have much there, then strings, then probably Cinematik. After that, if it goes farther, who knows, maybe the pianos or vintage keys. Great fun!

Hey Tek, thank you for the combis. They're great. I like the way you combined them.

Actually, yes.

It was better than us arguing.

And, no harm. I don't take things personally.

It was your opinion. And, I respect that.

I'd already stated my opinion. And, I respected it, too.

Okay, now I'll add something, besides my humor, to the thread.

I've seen some discussion about SampleARP and SampleOB Xpander.

I wrote Squids a private message to let him know how good the sounds are, because I'm hesitant to recommend them in the forum based on my tastes.

I enjoy vintage synthesizer sounds.

That said, if anyone is looking at these and undecided, and, if you asked my opinion, I say get them both...if you don't already have them from a previous purchase/group buy/etc.

The samples on the IK site seem intended to show the sounds of these 2 packs integrated into a composition, which they will do.

Many, if not all, of these sounds also stand on their own.

Going through the individual sounds, I found far more than enough to make either pack a worthy purchase.

Some of the sounds of the SampleOB Xpander, combined with on board fx, were ready for a Pink Floyd inspired flight into space.

And, the samples are a cost effective alternative to buying, owning, and using tempermental vintage synthesizers.

Either, or both, are a perfect compliment to SampleTron and/or SampleMOOG.

Any 1 or combination of those would only be limited by your own imagination.

I found the sounds to be quality and well sampled...especially considering the age of these instruments.

Now, if you buy this and don't like it, forget everything I just said.

But, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
