Thanks, Squids.

I've been waiting to see something more on the Cinematik pack.

And here's an old classic! Haha. I just found this. Can't forget about how cool the Stretch engine is... you can do some great stuff with it and since in this you have the FULL SampleTank software you can import your own sounds and do any of the things I was doing way back when I did this video (I think I did that one in Italy at IK's HQ!) There's a bunch more if you want to dig in and learn about SampleTank 2. I can't believe everyone is getting it for $50 in this. That's just insane! It still does things that aren't matched in anything else.

Those were some good sounds but actually I breezed through a lot of the whole series so they could be edited down into little segments covering a wide variety. But, these all sorts of great sounds in that Cinematik Collection. It borrows from our Cinema Sessions Ambient Atmospheres title which is $299 so... not a bad deal even getting this alone for $50 but to get it for 1/3 of $50 or however you want to look at it... well, you get the point!

Hi Squids.

Excellent videos. Thanks for putting these up.

Yeah but it is also very very crashy inside Reaper
Have had more crashes in the last two days using this than i have ever had in Reaper before combined

And it simply refuses to import wavs whatsoever
Just locks up the app
It could be nice but i don't think i will be using it outside of playing with the presets

I have tried to convert over 30 wavs now and non of them will load in
So yep not ever gonna be used in that way hahahahaha

Edit*
Also i have to be honest here
I think the GUI code was done by a semi blind fella
Some of the hit points on the buttons and stuff on the GUI are so far off the mouse pointer it is one step from being unusable (For an example check the FX on buttons hahahaha)

This is a good deal for the money but damn sampletank needs a bunch of work doing to it

Yes, stretch is a very cool tool. I'd say stretch alone is worth the 39.99 Euro. :D

But, what is the exact specs for all the audiofiles that can be imported?

We already know ST imports WAV, AIFF, SDII samples, AKAI® S1000-3000 and SampleCell™ instruments, directly from the plug-in, but I got some error messages yesterday when trying to import a 44.1kHz 16-bit PCM WAV vocal phrase.

Does stretch work on both mono and stereo samples? 16-bit? 24-bit? 32-bit float?

Some more specific info would be welcome, user experiences, links, tutorials.. :D
I know ST is mainly "a rompler", but I'd love to explore the import functions a bit further and make use of that lovely engine.

Speaking of the video demos...

The Acoustic Drums 2 multi-sample collection uses iMap. There are great demonstrations of the iMap drum lay-out here:

I haven't had a problem after some fairly long hours of use over the weekend (it is already Monday night here). I'm using it in Reaper on Windows 7 and it's been pretty stable for me. I'd be curious to know what you are running on.

Can't comment on the WAV imports though, I haven't tried that yet :D

So far an excellent experience for me.

Never really got into creating music like this before (always just drums, bass, guitars...recorded on 4 track until ealy this century when I went to a digital multitrack...recording on PC only started about 12 months ago).

This group buy is an awesome way to establish a base level library with great sounds (Going from nothing to this collection is definitely great).

I've Got Omnisynth, Cinematik Sounds and 70s Retro Grooves so far...planning for OBSynth and maybe World Instruments if the GB gets high enough. Hoping to use this to inject a bit more atmosphere into my music (and maybe pay a bit of homage to bands like Rush).

Now I just need to work out how to use it all effectively :)

Stretch can cause it to crash in Reaper here
Wav import is a simple no go here whatsoever in Reaper

The other crashes have been pretty random stuff under heavy usage
I will just run it in a separate process so it doesn't kill Reaper

I'm using this great offer to expand the palette I get from my Roland Fantom G hardware synth and they seem complement each other fine!

So far I got the Symphony Strings, Cinematic Collection and the World instruments multi-samples and I they are indeed very nice and very usable.

I'm looking to expand this further (when we hit 4:1) with some drums, possibly the guitars and definitely both the Piano and Vintage keys collections, and even the vocals seem like an interesting idea, only if there would be more demo material to listen to...

Great stuff!

If there is someone still wondering if to grab this great offer, I say don't hesitate, just grab it!

You can try running it stand alone mode just for the import perhaps. Then once it is imported you can then try to play it when re-opened as a plug-in... just an idea to try.

Combis? Did someone say Combis? I just loaded a set of 20 combis using "only" the XT content that comes with this group buy. Certainly not in the same quality waters as Squids but hey I had fun making them. Hopefully someone will have fun playing them as well. :D

(Why are SampleTank Combis so big? 20 presets weighs in at about 4 megs)

Hey Tek, thank you for the combis. They're great. I like the way you combined them.
Thanks! Glad you like them. :D
