how about a message when closing amplitube asking if you want to save the preset? Seriously some may think it's a joke but when you get older those things cause a lot of
moments. I can remember every single friend's telephone number from when I was a kid but now when I go into the other room to get something I foget why I got up

The main reason why I would like to see custom user defaults is for personalization. When someone else's settings come up when you load a model, it's kind of like discovering that someone's been messing with you gear. And we all know, nothing pisses off a guitarist more than that! AmpliTube is like your own personal (dream) rig, and the more it feels like your own, the better the user experience.
But as it is right now, every time I go to play my JMP, I find someone's messed with it. Naturally, I usually suspect it was Peter.

So how's that model of the Badcat coming along?
My friend just got a sweet deal on a new-old stock closeout Badcat Black Cat amp, and now I want one
. Pair that with the T-Rex Mudhoney overdrive pedal that complements that amp's character, and now it sings. Anything from vintage Beatles clean/fuzzy tones, classic 70s rock like Aerosmith, Queen, The Eagles, to modern heavier distorted tones.
He showed me the Pro Guitar Shop website/youtube channel he used to check out overdrive after overdrive pedal to find that T-Rex Mudhoney, and now I wish I could buy like 10 pedals.

When you're performing live it's not the same, but so many times in my past this has happened to me. In the 80s when I had a very early model 4-track (Cutec) neighbors would hear me playing and think "John's home, I think I'll go over and knock on his door and hang out".
Bang, I'm now done for a while, one guy was so bad I finally said "if you hear my guitar that means I don't want to see you".
With things like you describe once you put too much think into the creative process the mind switches over to critical thinking. Like that 3d picture of the girl dancing and how in your mind you can make her turn either clockwise or counter clockwise it's a very subtle moment of change. That picture is also about right/left hemisphere of the brain so it really demonstrates my point. It can be as simple as having to open a preset or worse resetting your entire patch.

Has anyone else reported a memory problem with AMP3 in Cubase because I have it and have been talking to a few people who have it as well.. I tried it in Cubase 3 AND 5.
(Win XP)Dual Core
2 Gigs memory(which can be reached with about 7 amplitubes)
A way to test it is keep loading up instances of Amplitube until your close to your physical memory limit. Now, I have been using Cubase forever in my studio and I can, obviously, go over the physical memory into the System cache--but with AMP3 there is a point where it will load a little mini plugin box with no graphic. Any other plugins, such as Waves Rcomp, will come up without a graphic and all loaded plugins will also be missing the graphic and the program will crash.
PS..Im not using 7 amplitubes, but its just a fast way to simulate the error instead of loading a complete mix of plugins and VSTi's. Also, I have never reached my memory limit in a mix in 10 years and Cubase has crashed on me an average of 3 times a year before Amplitube

I have not seen this specific issue, though AmpliTube 3 certainly will use a decent bit of RAM. Please log a support ticket so they can be sure to sort out anything that may cause this and/or log any bugs if there are any that come from the report. Thanks!

I am learning it may also be a problem with Cubase. My question is why does AMP3 take up almost 200mb for every instance? I see Line6 Gear box taking up not even a tenth of that. In fact I can load gearbox(podfarm)instances till the cows come home. I know AMP3 sounds better but that should be CPU thing. So I believe there is a better way to implement the plugin.

Well, we definitely do refine things as time goes by (historically, many of the AmpliTube 2 updates had efficiency tweaks as part of the list of things done) so there's going to always be that. It will, however, take more than some other plugins for the reason you state.
Have you had any time to do the comparison clips you mentioned in another thread? I'm curious to hear (and not hear) things in those

Speaking of hardware...is there an ETA on Stealthboard? I've been waiting patiently for that one.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Not *exactly* - well, kinda sorta maybe.redshift factor wrote:This is for some as yet unrevealed AmpliTube related hardware, right?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:I don't recall a timeframe but there's at least one more announcement coming.redshift factor wrote:Hey, wasn't there supposed to be a third IK product announcement this month?

Q2 was the target for StealthBoard, we're looking at late Q2 though from the looks of it.

I got a coupon from IK Multimedia due to previous purchases - thanks! - and now I wonder what to do with it. I already own A2, A2JH and A2Metal. Is the upgrade to Amplitube3 nonetheless worthwile and if so can someone pls give me some good reasons for upgrading?
