As pointed out, SR and IK are two different companies. I suspect IK supplied Squids with the conversion tool, and they would be ticked off if he made that available. It's likely proprietary to IK.

So, I think your question/complaint is best directed to IK Multimedia. SR likely has no ability to make that technology available.

So Squids did ask but I haven't seen anybody reply - where else are people spreading the word about this? The people who are already in have a vested interest in getting MORE by getting more people in. I thought this would have hit 4x1 already and you'd know if/when 5x1 will be achieved.

Anybody posting elsewhere or telling everybody they know that could use this? It really will help get you more packs in the end.

I'll post a thread in the Samples, Sampling and Sample Libraries forum if you think it'll help.

I see the cakewalk thread seems to be going strong...

I had to start that one... not like *I* benefit with extra Xpansion Tanks from 5x1.. 6x1... though :) Seriously, I do like to see these get crazy big and become an unbeatable bargain as I've been a Group Buy junkie for a very long time. That's how I found KVR and met Squids!

Oh man, sorry about that. Yeah the previous 6 Expansion Tank titles aren't sequels but rather "extended" with some additional content. You do have solo strings now that didn't come with the first one though. I believe the sound lists are up or will be very soon.

Did you get it from esoundz? If so at least you get an additional 1 gigabyte library on top. All in all should be worth it!
Is the acoustic drums 2 library much like the original acoustic drums or has it been expanded quite a bit? I ask because it appears to have nearly a gig more of samples than the original so I am hoping that means it has been expanded quite a bit. Has anyone bought both and made the comparison?

Fixed the quote above.

A lot of companies have in house development tools that are not made public or in a form that could be released to the public. But yes of course we've had these development tools for years and sometimes they're a bit tricky to use especially on sounds created over different eras of time but anyway...

I will say though that in the future there will be some improvements in the areas of tweaking the sounds in the module itself and much more but I can't get into any of that yet. Let's just say that the SampleTank world is very much alive and will only continue to improve. I agree with many of you that this is a great way to introduce SampleTank to a lot of new people and the more people that have it the more focus it will get for the "demand" on IK... oh and yes SR and IK are two separate companies that work together in partership on many things.... not everything though. IK isn't involved with our Kontakt development or Reason or RMX or BFD... and we're not involved with IK's non-SampleTank development (apart from my sending over some of my effects collection to model! Which is just plain fun for me!!!!)

It combines the sounds of Acoustic Drums 1 and the Studio Drums Capsule's GM kits. If you have both then skip it. If you don't have both then... for this price get it! A lot of great drum sounds in this one.

I am still putting it together but should have a list by the end of the week. I am making it gooooood! Has to be. Right? We're the ones who made all of the sounds in this whole GB in the first place so... you can bet these are going to be on the same level but just more sounds you don't already have and that's a nice bonus!

are there any orchestral woodwinds anywhere in here? i'm probably going to get in eventually, thinking of mostly the acoustic instruments, and see pretty much everything you could imagine... except woodwinds. there are some in omnisynth I guess, but considering that symphony strings is way beyond strings in there....
