Damn, an osc without your wrong uploads, wrong text files and wrong track names is not a real osc

The really sad thing is that I think Stringz2 needs no FX at all!
I do hate irony![]()
Oh well, I'll do the next OSC.
I will of course vote on this one

..... seriously, there's a microsoft conspiracy theory waiting to be written re. the move towards PC systems which cant run certain older software .... If I buy a 'new improved' potato peeler, I expect it to peel the same old potatoes as good if not better ... and not just new potatoes ... which dont need peeled anyway!

Actually, I've tried Reaper and do like it, I started with a $20 copy of Magix Music maker 10 I found at discount Book, music and software shop. I think its most certainly a great idea to get acquainted with two or more DAWsglokraw wrote:There is an analog rumbling in The Forceabstractcats wrote:Well, I love Krakli synths but they dont like either my PC, Fl studio and or XP Pro x64So, sadly I'm out of this OSC

EDIT! I'm down loading Reaper again, the license is a great price and I do want to try it for composing via wave files, I've had some great luck with that in Magix.

Its nice to rack up a bunch of vsts in Reaper, press ctrl-alt-b and start recording,
then load the resulting .wav as a media file, and rack up some more vsts, and off to
the dance floor for lap 2
To be fair, I may buy FLS, when a good price shows up.
I loved the Sytrus demo, and read good things about various secret componants

I bought FL Producer at 7 when it was still about $150 and have added to it since, I ended up with Sytrus for about $67 when I upgraded to XXL.glokraw wrote:Its nice to rack up a bunch of vsts in Reaper, press ctrl-alt-b and start recording,

I think the down load is still around $199.00 and you get the life time updates with the download version. If you've tried FL9 you'll see some great additions.
And they usually have great sales on plug ins at least once a year.

Just been demoing Reaper myself and it's pretty good imo. Stable, fast, intuitive and with the all-important editable and keyboard shortcuts. Ok, you need a plugin to get even basics like solo/mute so I still have to use Autohotkey as normal ones will stop working in certain situations, but got a nice workflow going and amazing what you get for 60$. I might go for it just to have a second one for inspiration and collaborations.
Tried FL while at it and it was extremely frustrating..
Rarely have I been stumped by a software like this. Tried literally hours, but still don't get the basics and had to give up. I guess as the name implies it's for loops only, not writing so much.
Anyway, got a skeleton of a StringZ track going, hope to have a short piece for submission by deadline despite the inspiration sucking complete OS reinstall I was forced to do..
Agree with what's said here that it really needs a sensitive touch or a lot of editing to not sound stale or have levels all over the place, but it can give a unique and charming sound and is editable, tho not in the same league as UGO's String Theory. Unlike others I have no technical trouble with it..

Reaper would do well to have a splash screen that says
'Right click on everything, and take notes', but I would
rather help get a newbie going in Reaper, than anything else.
One DAW I really wanted to use, never had the words
plugin, vst, fx or load in any menu or icon. Like I really want to
figure out cryptic synonyms instead of recording a tune. I'm
all for manuals, but its nice when the basic i/o is obvious to the plumber,
the waitress and the garbage man.
