Welcome back! We're glad you back in the thread. If you're on esoundz I am going to give you some bonus epointz just for saying that. If you're not then you get mad props. Either way, glad to see it.

Shouldn't be. They're stereo.

I'd like to blame Squids for me being tired this morning - I was up late going through the Xpansion Tanks I have bought! If you didn't make 'em I wouldn't be buying 'em! :D

I'd say that it was definitely a good buy (three times now *cough*!), most of the sounds are good to very good, a few are excellent, a few are okay.

While there are some sounds that I am unlikely to use, there's nothing there that I would call bad.

Yes, you can point SampleTank at any directory you desire by clicking "Prefs" and browsing to it.
Also, if you move the Libraries out of the VSTi folder then your host start-up time could be quicker - if it scans for / checks VST(i)s on start-up. At the very least whenever you run the host's VST Scan the time will be improved.

After you have moved the Library, click on [Prefs] it ST2 and select the new folder. ST2 will do a relist to locate all the Instruments and patches. See Sections 2.1.2 and 3.8 in the User manual, and turn off "Relist at Startup" while you're there.

Squids mentioned thirty places, I think I find less than 20. Any other posts being made? Pictures of people on the side of the road with sandwich boards on that say "USE MOOR SAMPLETANK SOUNDZ"? How's the word getting out?
I've posted the info on the swedish "Studio" magazine forum here: http://forum.studio.se/index.php?showtopic=76020

Thanks for this group buy I.K
some great sounds and i still haven't chosen my 3rd pack yet
(got 2 loop packs so far -motown and soul,)
There's some nice sounds in the 1gb library too!
Pretty good for 20 euro- after paying half with my accumulated points!
Bloody excellent if the freebies keep coming with more people onboard
(means i'll have to have a big cleanup to free up some HD space tho :hihi: )

and i got notification of my refund for the mis-payment already
thanks guys :)

one thing slightly annoying tho.. no midi learn?
it has a midi assign function but you have to select the control number yourself after selecting what you want to change in sampletank.
I have a novation x-station with about30+ knobs and buttons.. how am i supposed to know what number each is? pot luck?
am i going about this the wrong way , i just want to control filter/res and things like that with minimum fuss. how come no midi learn, it seems what is available is just a harder way of doing it for the user.

Post

If you have an X-station, then just load up the MIDI learn template- it will assign cc numbers to all controllers. Just touch/move a controller to see what CC it is and map it that way.

FYI- the Cinematik demo is definately mono.

You're right - the lack of MIDI Learn is a weak point (Wonderin' - could it be in SampleTank 3? If not, then it really should be ... Peter?)

Anyway, you are going about it the right way; to find out which CC numbers your X-Station knobs are sending:
-- is there an X-Station Knob Editor? That should tell you what each control is sending,
-- are they defined in the X-Station User Guide?
-- failing that, load a MIDI Monitor plugin in your host (or even record the MIDI CC messages from each knob)

Two MIDI Monitors I use are:

cheers guys, thanks for those tips. :tu:

Great tips - I'll make sure MIDI learn is put in as a feature request if it isn't already on the table. Thanks!

Just a few seconds before, I finally joined the groupbuy and i'm waiting for my serial ;)

it's a +1 to the 4x1, hehe...

hav fun, guys

Post

Getting close to 4 so I joined even though there is some overlap with past purchases. Now I just have to figure out why my account disappeared from IK. Maybe because I have not logged on in 3 years?
All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

Post

I don't if this was asked in the past, but why do I have to wait soooo long (about half an hour) for my serial and downloads??

Oh man, I thought, I could try out my new sounds immediately... I guess I have to wait a few hours am I write??

Why the heck, do I have to go to work tonight?! awwwhhhh... want to play around with my new stuff instead!

P.S.: I purchased on esoundz.com
