Squids..what is being updated? the GB 2 or is there something in GB 1...I am getting confused, all my stuff seems to work fine!

Hi all,

First post here at KVR, but have bought into both group buys, and went with the DVD versions.

Of the multi kits, is the Bonzo MT kit equivalent to the Bonzo Hands Stm kit, or is it the Bonzo Beat multikit? Trying to determine which multis to choose, or rather, which one not to choose!

Also, now with the DVDs content installed, are there any downloadable updates I still need to get to be up to date?

Post

Really digging these hybrid kits, when can we expect the Gb1 &GB2 hybrids?..also as I asked above..what do we need to DL as of now as far as fixes!

I'm pretty sure that they are different. The Bonzo kit is recorded to sound like Bonzo's kit (duh!), while the Bonzo Hands kit is played with the hands.

Bonzo Multitrack version (MT) is similar to Bonham Ludwig kit STm (GB1).

I had a time deciding which multitrack bonus to "skip" per se as I liked all the demos (I got all but one MT offered via GB1 DVD + GB2). My conclusion was to forego the Classic Rock MT. Why? I love the sound, but since the Classic Rock STm version was really dry, the STm version allowed me the most flexibility with convolution room reverbs.

Of course, Squids would let you buy the other ones ... :P

Here's an excellent link back to page 68 of this thread (thanks to Chester) with all the MT demos AND a cool spreadsheet description of all kit pieces: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... start=1014

Correct. One is with stick (the regular one) and the one with "hands" is more the Moby Dick Bonham playing with hands type thing. Both are nice to have if you like Led Zep!

The "fixes" are really just some issues with the Bruford kit's encryption/demo mode (dancing around NI's peculiar particulars there) and then some of the V-Drum hi hats. Other than that it is not anything new so it is optional but you could also just download the latest USD2 Global Patch Update which is dated now. Install that and you're all set.

Yes, actually I mentioned it earlier. I was shooting for Friday but would try to do it earlier... I think Friday is more realistic though.

Hey Squids,

Someone on this or another forum gave some 'constructive criticsm' about announcing dates when things will be ready.

Well, since you know movies, I offer the following line for moral support:

" Don't take any guff off these swine! "

Here's another giant thank you for producing some of the best drum samples I've ever heard or used !

Well, thanks. I appreciate that. I think I prefer to find ways to be more accurate in our planning and projecting to avoid the criticism in the first place... but it is still nice to be cut some slack and to have the support of those that enjoy what we create. We only intend to make great products that inspire! Not a bad thing. There's certainly no resting on laurels either... if anything maybe we work TOO much on this stuff! We also have our share of internal dramas as well... like companies do. But, when one takes a step back and realizes - hey, they make sounds! They go out and record them, set them up to be played with different software in creative ways... cool!

Tonight I am sampling Simon Collins' Gretsch kit. We took the day off from working on music in the studio (we're working on album right now... sounding great too!) and there is a free open day so I think I am going to sample the heck out of this Gretsch kit which was custom made for him and his dad Phil. Always nice to sample a drum kit where the drum company was bending over backwards to give their very best... same thing was the case for Peart's kit from DW. As good as it gets. Anyway, this Gretsch sounds killer so I am going to capture that and also this Black Beauty snare that Simon picked up that we both liked. Sample Everyting!

As far as SR goes, we carry on and do our best... all the while we are VERY appreciative and grateful for the support. We couldn't do it without you guys. So thank you for keeping us going all these years.
