I have ST XL from a previous group buy throug Esoundz from a year or two ago. How much overlap will there be with the Xpansion Tanks from this group buy to the XL content I already have? I am specifically wondering about the amount of overlap with OmniSynth.

Also, as part of that group buy I got some extra Xpansion Tanks at the time, including Symphonic Strings AND Sonic Strings (I think those were the names)and a Piano Expansion Tank. (Don't recall the exact name).

Do I understand correctly that those will pretty much overlap the Symphony Strings 2 and Piano Collection 2 from this Group Buy and, thus, those would NOT be wise choices for me. Is that right?

This seems like a good deal -- and I'm not complaining! :) But it seems largely targeted to new users and is a bit of a chore for someone from past group buys to figure out if it makes sense for them and, especially, how to maximize value and choose wisely. Answers to above would help me with this...thanks in advance.
Same here, same questions (not Sonic Strings but Symphonic Strings, Piano Expansion and Omnisynth Expansion).

Squids/Peter...if you are unable or unwilling to answer these questions for Mountain King and me would you pls let me know so I'll stop asking and move on. It is not practical for me to compare patch lists at the moment, so if you happen to know the answers, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

OmniSynth 2 vs. SampleTank 2.5 XL's sound set? Not much overlap at all. The XL sound set was mostly created by IK (and some Sonic Reality in there). OmniSynth 2 was solely created by Sonic Reality. It has a bunch of stuff we did for NI's Bandstand in there plus the original "OmniSoundz" GM set. So very little if any overlap... you're safe. ;)

Correct. I'd skip those if you have these titles.

Cinematik Collection
Hip Hop Instruments
World Instruments
Sweet....I have two of those packs, and I was a bit disappointed there were no child patches for Cinematik.

Thanks, squids, for the patches.

OK, so lets say we hit 4x1, what would be your top 4 picks (if you didn't have any IK stuff) that showcases the best of the best with what is on offer. I have been going through my collections of synths and can't really find an area that I should focus on (besides orchestral). So I would like to pick packs that are the Cadillac of the bunch. Any suggestions beyond some I did get from my previous request.
The 4 for 1 will likely make me take a deep dive off the fence finally.

Yeah, there were supposed to be for all three of those titles but it got missed. We're doing an update with IK officially soon but you guys can just download from the link I gave which will be active for about a week then I'll take it down. By then it will be in your IK user area as an easy full download/replacement to the original pack (in case someone doesn't want to hassle updating the way I said... although Cinematik was the easiest to update).

As I was going through it couldn't believe how many sounds we actually put in it though... hard to believe anyone would be disappointed with just the parent sounds when there are so many and such diversity... in fact, I think we may have messed up by including this one in the collection because even at the full $50 JUST for this one title it is incredible... too good! But, I the thinking at the time was to make this absolutely incredible value. I think we've achieved that and at 4 for 1 that just rams that home that much more! Less than $12.50 each! That's just insane. Don't forget to get it from esoundz http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?Prod ... ode=XT2KVR You'll get yet ANOTHER gigabyte collection (a 5th one) and that makes them all $10 each (relative value). A rare opportunity to get a lot of stellar sounds on the cheap. Join multiple times and snap them all!

Don't forget to use a referral for esoundz to get 5% of your purchase BACK in credit on the site (and the person you use as a referral gets the same).

Wow, getting so close! Just think, if 70+ some odd people sign up, the value for EVERYONE jumps up, including those people!

And of course, getting a few bucks in credit for signing up through esoundz isn't so bad. Just use a referral of another member! (my referral name is koolkeys, if you want to use it- find more in the esoundz forum sticky!).

Let's go people! 4x1 is almost here! I can taste it!

I recently purchased the SR gold group buy including SR Gold refills 1-20 and the ultra series (electronic, hip hop and orchestral). Can I ask what/ if any overlap there is with these titles?

Thanks guys

Squids, thanks. This is helpful and much appreciated. :)

Someone in another thread was asking for suggestions on a reasonably sized orchestral plugin and of course I thought of this group buy. But he was looking for Brass sounds and I just realized that there is almost no brass in any of the Xpansion tanks or bonus content at this time. I don't use Brass so I never noticed. What recommendations would you have for someone looking at this group buy and needs orchestral brass?
