Is 2C's Aether REALLY worth it? (the answer is: yes, certainly)

I don't remember exactly, but I think I posted that same example a while ago in this thread and I may have named the preset then. Certainly it is one of the "mystical" presets...

Checked out the new 1.5 demo version, nothing but excellent imho. I like the gui also, well done. However i missed somehow the "reverse" button or function, do you have a quick hint for me?

I actually strongly prefer the smaller GUI. On a 30" LCD here too.Breeze wrote:I have to join this opinion too. I got the new presets, and after spending a while on the browser on a 30" screen, my eyes are going wonky.cryophonik wrote:I was the third person who liked it.aMUSEd wrote:Oh no - I liked that tooariston wrote:What happened to the large versions, btw? I really liked the visibility of the large GUI. Alternatively it would be cool to turn up the contrast in the Browser. My eyes will thank you
I bought a 30" screen for a reason: to fit more stuff on there without having to tab back and forth. The original GUI was just way too big (especially on my laptop -- took up like 1/3 the screen).
Btw Andrew -- is there any way to make the browser view scrollable (via scroll wheel or touch pad)?

No, but you can use keyboard arrow keys. Click on one preset with your mouse to give the browser the active focus, and then use keyboard arrow keys to change presets. THIS IS VERY FAST, and an awesome way to try a bunch of different presets. Compare that to having to select a single preset from a menu every time you want to try something new... It's like lightning vs a turtle...NewSc2 wrote: Btw Andrew -- is there any way to make the browser view scrollable (via scroll wheel or touch pad)?

Hi,
haven't found enough time for seriously making music and hanging around KVR for quite a while. That's why I was particularly thrilled by reading the 1.5 announcement mail.
Checking out 1.5 will be my first task when firing up Cubase the next time (which still will be some days away..
)
What I already can tell from the product page: the new GUI looks good and by eye well elaborated (readability, colors, fonts etc.).
Cheers,
LiteOn

Can somebody please tell me how I upgrade from 1.0 to 1.5.
I've looked at the Aether homepage and there is nothing whatsoever to be found how I'm supposed to upgrade.
There is a demo, but I'm not interested in demoing, I want the real thing right away. Anyway, I tried the demo, but installing it there is nothing in the GUI that tells me how to upgrade.
Sorry, I've scanned 4-5 pages in the subject about this, but I don't have time to browse all 39 pages in this subject to see if this is already explained.
I try to tell myself that the same guys who make that dysfunctional and not user friendly webpage galbanum.com still have the required skills to make a functional and user friendly reverb...

Just a quick up-grade question, before I launch 1.5, will this affect any of the previous version's set-ups? I have a slew of about to be completed work-in-progress projects with Aether all over them to be cautious with here..
Thanks

Some AWESOME flamenco guitar examples from Freddy Clarke!
Freddy is a friend of mine, and sent me dry mp3s, and I quickly applied some of the new presets to them. Probably they could be even better with a little extra time tweaking the presets to fit the playing--which of course is the point of having and algo verb--but I am running out of time before going to the airport... (Also they were mp3 to begin with when I received them and not 24bit .wav, which would have been better... but anyway, you get the idea.)

You should be fine to update. Every attempt was made to preserve preset compatibility as best as possible. There may be VERY, VERY minor differences but generally it is not an issue. Up to you if the project is almost complete...mixsit wrote:Just a quick up-grade question, before I launch 1.5, will this affect any of the previous version's set-ups?
