I've done some compacting, filling in blank patches with other banks that were small in number. There also was a Mutant bank that I used to fill in blank presets in other banks. Is this list of any use to anyone?
I for one and others as well I'm sure, would be interested in these banks :D

By all means share.

+1000 on a Lime gui :)

Thank you for synth1 and I look forward to more updates! Thanx!!
KVR >Gear Slutz! Change my mind!

Am I the only one who really likes the current gui?

No, I like it as well; lean and mean but that's one of the things that make it so simple to use.

Can't. Most, if not all are here on KVR in the Banks & Patches section. Besides many were given away for free, with rules of distribution. You should be able to find them all via Google, in a few hours.

By far not. I don't want it to change either (as I wrote in an earlier post) because I love it as it is!
jobromedia wrote:3. As for preset preview here is a suggestion: Single click to preview a preset, double click to load a preset.
That would be a good and not so hard (I guess) improvement.

We all rightfully applaud Ichiro Toda for keeping Synth1 alive & well and for finding his way to KVR. And now, apart from the praise he is immediately being confronted with wish-lists for improvements. :D
The more I hang around at KVR the less music I make.

Hi Ichiro! Thanks for the update! I really like synth1 ans its importance for the synth scene.

I like the current/original gui.
I just recommend a better browse preset function, like native instruments stuff, because there are tons of banks for synth1.

The sound is ok, its great! No problem with it.
But maybe brok landers can give you better suggestion in this filter part.

I highly recommend the tiny lil freeware "Color Cop" app if your going to be changing the color of your Synth1. It's so easy with this lil app. :D

I used this synth quite heavily a few years back but when you have a few good commercial synths (Predator, Omnishphere, Z3ta a.o.) the only reason why I would still use it would be because it's very low cpu usage - so I rarely do.

Anyway...good to hear that the devoloper hasn't abandoned it completely :)

I hope you realize what a legend your somewhat simple synth plug-in has become! Many of us think of it as the standard by which all other synths are compared for stability, versatility, and low CPU use, at least in the freeware world. It would certainly be one of the early entires in the softsynth hall of fame!

As for the GUI, I love it just as it is! No doubt LimeFlavour is a most talented designer and I love all his artistry! But I personally find the Synth1 GUI to be quite wonderful in its own right, and feel it fits the tone and attitude of the synth perfectly.

Thank you once again Daichi for this fantastic, and well-designed musical tool that has brought countless hours of satisfaction and joy to composers and listeners alike. I still use Synth1 everyday in my compositions, and still find new ways to express myself through your impressive creation!

I like your custom color scheme, do you have the numbers handy?
Cheers :) (Perhaps a best color scheme contest is due!)

Many thanks Ichiro for this update to Synth1. It is like a dream come true! Not long ago I posted on the forum here, saying I felt Synth1 was due for an update. My request was to be able to have access to more than 'just' 10 soundbanks (since at the time I had around 80). The response to my post was... be happy with what you got, but don't expect anything more cause it isn't going to happen. Others it seemed, felt that there would be no more updates and there wasn't any point in hoping for one. Despite that, I sent Ichiro an email - don't know if he ever got it or not, but it seems like maybe he did.

My suggestion was to store the registry info in an "ini" file, in Synth1's folder - instead of using the registry.

The idea was to have multiple Synth1's, with each one being able to access a set of soundbanks. Then someone said, wouldn't it just be better to have 100 banks in Synth1. I was like, "yeah of course." Now that this has happened, it's great news! However, I still feel it would be better to store the settings in a file, rather than (my already bloated) registry. More and more, I find myself using portable applications that I can use anywhere and don't need to uninstall later on. So if I could only make one change to Synth1, it would be to not use the registry. I'm glad the installer and DX version have been discontinued.

I think I can speak for most everyone who uses freeware VST's when I say Synth1 is one of the best. Another one of my favourites is Oatmeal. Both of these synths can cover a wide spectrum of sounds. But just like Oatmeal's default skin - Synth1's gui is not much to look at. Many people judge a synth by how it looks. I made that mistake when I first saw Oatmeal. All I'm saying is - if it's possible to rework the gui so it can be skinned, and someone like LimeFlavour is willing to take a crack at doing a gui for it, than everyone wins in the end.

Thanks again Ichiro. (I still can't believe it...)

When I install it newly, I fail in initsettings.exe of an old version regardless of the OS by all means.
Oh, I am a fool how.
From the following, please download it again.
The file name becomes "Synth1V108a.zip".

Just so you know. This site is blocked in China. Even with proxy.
It worked 3 years ago, but not now. (many sites are blocked here)

If you can ever store it for download from a different site-server.
It would be greatly appreciated.

If you put up a "Paypal Donate" button on your site,
I think many people including me would gladly donate something for your efforts.

Thank you.
Michael :)
