I have managed to Proper Case 2560 files from NL2 banks! THAT WAS TEDIOUS JOB and my wrists hurt a bit

So, the thing is done now. 8364 patches ready! Whenever you say!

I can't believe it... I ran the "initsettings.exe" file to register everything and I got an error message saying it expects a newer version of Windows. I'm still running the antiquated win98SE (believe it or not) - so I couldn't even register the settings. All the more reason to not use the registry. If you could please help me out Ichiro, that would be great.

Up until now Synth1 had no registry incompatibilites with win98. I think the registry is version 4 in win98 and version 5 in XP. Maybe a registry file could be translated to the old version?

Great news!!! Ive been working on a bank for a while now,maybe half done,so this might just be the impetous I need to finish it. I have already done the Luck's Rainbow and the Lila K banks a while ago and got a good reception from a number of people.Anyways gotta check this out now!!!

I just tried running it without using "initsettings", just to see what would happen. It turns out, nothing happens. The dll doesn't seem to even load in to the host program. So it looks like it may be more than just a registry issue. I hope that isn't the case. From the changelist, it didn't seem like anything that would warrant breaking support for Win98(SE)... but what do I know?

One of the big advantages of Synth1 has always been it's low CPU usage. And the one's who benefit the most from this are people running older computers and operating systems. To not support them anymore, doesn't make a lot of sense in my opinion.

To all those collecting presets and names and the likes, did you REALLY, REALLY try the synth1 YahooGroups? I remember that they even collected the one from VST-cafe.com

Please keep up the good work, love to see Synth1 still being in development.


Certain collected requests from users regarding possible updates:
- More presets (already done)
- Custom Skinning (so that skin designers can "reskin" Synth1 with all knobs, buttons and background)
- Filters more like the Original Nord Lead 1
- smoother filters (but please include a mode, that reactivates "classic filters" if you include that)
- Macintosh version
- Win X64 version
- VST3 standard (for compatibility)
