I don't need a CPU-hungry plugin that sounds stellar on it's own but brings nothing useful into a mix over another good sounding plugin with light CPU-demands.Kriminal wrote:so you have compromised sound quality over CPU?![]()
i would much rather have a quality synth thats kills my pc than 10 average ones that are lite on cpu
The whole debate about 'good sound' is very subjective but in most cases has little to do with how an instrument actually performs in a complete mix. The DX7 is a great example in this case; everyone nowadays will say how very bad it sounds, that it has no FX on it, etc. But it became the success it was because it had great quality sitting in a complete mix. And remember, it didn't sound warm or analog or anything like that, it sounded cold and digital.
