There is one feature I would like to get in Catanya.
Now we have only one pattern at the time.
How about to play a few patterns in series (sequential)?
If Catanya will keep 4-8 patterns in memory and we could switch between them by midi command (like very low midi notes for ex.)
I recently played with Cubase 5 Beat designer plug-in. You can have 48 patterns in memory and switch between them during the play.
It also has settings to determine when to start play next pattern - right now, next bar, next 1/8 etc.
It would be very useful future in Catanya.

I've just demoed this pluging & I'd love to get it. But what stops me is that I'm planning on getting a new computer with windows 7 64 bit in the near future & I'm worried about compatibility. I'll be using Cubase 5 and Sonar 8.5. It's a pity since in spite of the wish list here (which is understandable) I think it looks like a great plugin, well worth the money and the midi out plus save your own melody lines makes it twice as desirable as anything vaguely similar I've seen. I understand & appreciate the difficulties of being a one man developer but I hope it goes 64 bit soon & congratulations on such a fine bit of software.

A few points:
1. Chord recognition is not that hard to do. I have written a few plugins myself and one of them does chord recognition. They way you do it is to have a lookup table with all possible chords (all based on the same root note), then you keep transposing the input chord and wrapping the notes so that all notes are within a single octave, until you find a match in the lookup table. It is a pretty simple and fast process.
2. There is currently a bug in Sonar that prevents multiple instances of Catanya (and any other VSTi that sends MIDI output) to be used in Sonar without Sonar crashing. This is a longstanding Sonar bug that Cakewalk refuses to fix. I am mentioning it here so that those that want to use Sonar with Catanya are aware of this issue. If you do run into this issue, please complain to Cakewalk, as this is not a Catanya bug.

do somebody else have graphics bugs after more half an hour of using catanya in cubase 5.1?
regularly, after a few time using catanya, rolling menu of cubase and preset menu of vsti are completely empty and slim even if everything is functional.

P.S. : i am on cubase 5 (32bit version) on vista 64bit.
thanks for your help...

Yeah, sorry to hear that my good man. Seems like they're putting alot into advertising to make the sales though.samicide wrote:sorry to read this thread after buying this on friday, I'm getting some graphic problems in cubase 5.1.1 sometimes it's really small or it's blank, all my other plugs are working well. damn..

thanks.
that's the price I pay for not doing a search first. it's a shame it's dead because I was having fun with it, hopefully a good developer steals the concept and does the right thing.

That's how I feel about it. Great idea for a plugin, the problem is that it was made by the wrong developer. Hopefully not a lot of people get suckered by the hype surrounding this sham.samicide wrote:hopefully a good developer steals the concept and does the right thing.
