Ummmmm dude it's the year 2010. That was one hell of a nap. :hihi:
You've got a point there!

But... it's 1990 now, and it seems like 1985 was only a few minutes ago!
I think that you're just channelling "Reverend Rumpelstiltskin" :) Are you, by any chance, related?

the samples in the world instruments pack are quite impressive. haven't used the others yet, but between the world stuff and the other sonik capsules i already had it's pretty safe to say this is excellent quality at an amazing price. i think this is THE no-brainer to purchase.

Yep. Fantastic quality! I'm just grooving with some of the guitars and basses from the Capsules which I didn't have before. It is truly awesome stuff. I am VERY excited, actually. I am finding a heap of instruments that I really like and plan to make frequent use of.

Congratulations Squids! You have built an incredible library of sounds. I can't believe you are letting everyone buy in at such low prices. This is amazing. :o :-o

Well, now that we've changed it to multiple choice it may take a little longer than the end of this week but... I want to have it before the end of May. Some time IN May... and it is going to be awesome by the way. A LOT of choices including the R.A.W. (Rex, Apple Loops and Wave) counterpart to many of the loop titles in this! So that's a nice option for those looking to use the loops in other things as well... we're going to make it really great to reward the people that support www.esoundz.com I will give you a more substantial update this week. We're going to make those extras available as soon as possible.

You know I always liked you! ;)

I am glad you are enjoying the sounds.

Thanks Zedd. It seemed right after all of these years of SampleTank development to do some sort of round up of goodies and make a compelling offer. There are a lot of things we like to do but it makes a huge difference to have IK fully behind it - as we can see. Much more far reaching than we've been able to do on our own. But that means more people in the group and more goodies for you guys...

Remember though we still have some goals to hit on the esoundz side. We're close to 300 now and we want to hit 1,000 just on esoundz. We're going to get sending out news of what the multiple choice extras are going to be on esoundz and I think that will boost the numbers quite a bit (for both btw since when people register it shows up on IK's group number). I will update you all where we're at - in the ballpark (so I don't have to update every time a person orders and our counter system this time wasn't working... but we can get there without it... it just means MORE anyway).

The important thing is to make this fun and inspiring. A lot of great sounds to be had in this!

That's what I thought of Cognition's demo of Cinematic also, I didn't know if anyone would get it.
There's some pretty interesting things you could do with this library in that respect. And it doesn't just have to be a sound effect montage. You could use some of those textures and sound effects to join the songs on an album, or to add some interesting flavour to an outro, or whatever. It is great stuff.

It will actually serve me perfectly, because I have a whole album which will rely on this kind of thing, including a bunch of field recordings that I have made myself.
If you go to our SR myspace page and listen to "The Big Bang" which is an instrumental track I co-wrote and played on with Simon and Phil Collins who are drumming like mad over lots of keys, there is a middle section break that has Cinematik Collection all over it for the build. It is subtle but it makes it sound dramatic and mysterious... then I use a bunch of other SampleTank sounds such as vocal pads in the background, some sounds from the Vintage Keys Collection... check it out: www.myspace.com/sonicreality

Also the intro is from Cinematik and the Mellotron is another one from our SampleTank sounds... in fact I think I did my keys exclusively on just SampleTank and a Nord... I even sampled Simon's voice for the middle section and played it from SampleTank through the built-in effects to get that particular sound. That is what I mean about SampleTank being a workhorse.

The demos I've heard so far seem to focus on the more unusual effects and I couldn't quite work out from preset names whether it has any 'clean' classical brass, string and percussion patches?
I'm thinking between this or the Dimension LE with Garritan Pocket Orchestra.
I'd very much appreciate it if somebody could post some samples with more traditional symphonic / orchestral sounds.
Thanks!
I was going to PM this to you because it's not... well... good, but I figured it might be useful to others too. I tried and succeeded at only picking traditional orchestral sounds only from Cinematik and within a few minutes had a decent combi and multi-out setup to do this small piece. Forgive the crashes in the wrong place and other nits here and there. There's layered strings, brass, and winds with a lame percussion track - all from Cinematik only: http://storage.tinytoaster.com/STCinematikOrch.mp3

no woodwinds or brass? are there any in the cinematic samples pack? If i could round out an ochestra with these deals, i would defnitely have to get in on this.

Nice work, Peter!

Liking the dark vibe! :)

Now this is what I am talking about- some useful demos that give some depth and breadth to a pack. Keep them coming- I am now considering Cinematik. Could you whip up one for the Vocal one as well? I have my eyes on that but already have the typical Spectrasonics/Roland Do-wah pop vocal patches. I was hoping from something more than that for that pack.
Keep it up!!!
