I'm working hard to have this out at the end of the month. I'm releasing it at the same time as announcing/releasing some other stuff, which is why it's taking a little longer than anticipated.

For the price, I'm thinking $99.95 USD. :)

Combined with the lead guitar library, you'll have one killer guitar sample library.

Thanks for reply.
Good news !!!
The price is very affordable. I'm pretty sure this library will set the standard for other ones.
Do you plan to offer any kind of "release discount" or "returning costumers special" ?

Yes to both questions. If you already own a CoreGuitar Strawberry product, you'll get a cross-grade discount, in addition to the introductory discount. :)

Things are going really well! Sorry for the delay in things.

Basically what I'm doing is combining the rhythm guitar with the lead guitar into a single product. So there'll be "Evolution Electric Guitar - Strawberry", and that's all. And you'll be VERY happy about the price. ;)

So as you can imagine, I have some work to do in terms of preparing presets and manual writing.

I'm planning on adding more acoustic and electric guitars in this same fashion. So imagine "Evolution Acoustic Guitar - Martin" or "Evolution Electric Guitar - Telecaster" (but obviously not using those brand names, which would result in legal trouble).

Cool ! In other words the Rhythm Library is finished, right ?

And the Extended Guitar owners will get the RL as an add-on ?

Just nearly. All I have left to do is create the presets and write the manual (which will now encompass both the rhythm component as well as the lead)

And of course, the demos, but that's the fun part. I'm hoping to have some video tutorials ready for the release as well. Seeing Mind Control already has two demonstrations, it's only fair. :)

Yeah, there's an upgrade price for EEG - Strawberry. This adds the rhythm guitar component to the library as well as adding some features to the lead guitar patches. For example, the layer system has been completely revamped, making the conditions easier to use as well as more powerful. The interface for the layers looks a lot cleaner, too. I also added a "velocity curve" control per layer, which is really useful.

Anyway, like I said, you're not going to believe the upgrade price, especially considering all the new content it adds. :)

More news soon, but for now I'm getting back to work!

Here's a brand-new demo of Evolution Electric Guitar - Strawberry playing some funk rhythm guitar. You wouldn't believe how easy (and fun) it was to lay down that track! :)

when, when, when ??

greg, that's gone too far !
being the developer in charge here gives you absolutely no right whatsoever to keep torturing good people with those forever teasers, and no firm release date !

We've been more than patient, but I for one am reaching my limits, and very probably many others too.

So, take this advice for free : watch your back if you don't announce something about that struming engine/libary very soon !
:x :x

More seriously now :D :D :D :D :D :D, congratulations for this last demo : very good piece/composing, totally my taste, and for me it's very hard to tell what is samples and what is not...

Here's another demo of Evolution Electric Guitar - Strawberry playing some choppy funk guitar:

http://www.orangetreesamples.com/audio/ ... Guitar.mp3

It's first played solo, with the wah-wah effect, then without wah-wah. Then it repeats, this time in the mix. I'm ONLY using Sonar's native effects, too! It literally took me 10 minutes to lay down this rhythm guitar track, including the time it took to enter the strumming pattern into the sample library's interface. Of course, the library comes with a large collection of preset strumming patterns and style/genre-specific chord definitions.

A few details to notice--listen to the palm muted section, and hear that "scrubbing" sound the palm of the guitarist's hand makes as it moves across the strings. You can also hear the difference in string muting, from frets being released to the picking hand muting the strings. Nuances like this are automatically added through scripting, adding much more realism.

Hahah, don't worry, things will be cleared up in a matter of days--the release date, as well as the price. I can't wait either!

The different pick positions sound plinky perfect!

From the audio demos I forget I'm listening to a set. Which is what is proper imo.

Thanks!! All these strumming patterns and chord definitions will be included.

All you have to do is hold down a chord, like a triad in any inversion--this selects the voicing, and you'll hear the noise that the guitarist makes, fretting the chord. Then there are 12 keyswitches which correspond with the strumming patterns. You can change strumming patterns in the middle of the bar, even. But basically one hand sustains the chord, and the other selects the pattern.

This is all 61-key MIDI keyboard compatible. The chord detection has everything from single notes to fifths (great for powerchords), triads, sus chords, seventh chords, and will even detect altered chords. The library comes with all these voicings already defined, just as a guitarist would play them. Of course, if you're playing a funk guitar patch, different voicings (as well as strumming patterns of course) are used, and that's been accounted for.

One of the coolest parts is that you can detune or capo the guitar and it will automatically recalculate all the voicings. These tuning changes not only alter the chord voicings, but also the tone of the guitar itself, just as with a real guitar.

Oh, need to double-track the guitar? There's a button for that. :)
