So the midi files can't be used with other drumkits, the notes are not mapped to drumkit, but to the audio slices. You can rearrange the order the slices are played though.

I love you!androidlove wrote:...
@pekadan yes, this is a very versatile set. i write a in a lot of different styles. these are the sounds i've been trying to get out of soft synths. now i have the real deal. i'll throw together a non-hip hop demo later. what style would you like to hear?
I don't have komplete. That was the other one I was eyeing. I just was having a jab at the uber nameing spelling Boyz to Men style I see EVERYWHERE in vst land. I dipped my toes and bought Battery 1 with licence for $25 and the free Kontakt download and I do like what I hear.2ndStringer wrote:Yeah, it is a VSTi that will plug into Sonar. If you have got Komplete you have most of your bases already covered, but this is a great deal for a lot of sounds. I don't know about uber goth industrial cyberpunk (I thought "cyberpunk" was science fiction), but yeah, these sounds fit a lot of styles. It sounds like you might want to work on learning what you have got though.

Thanks, Sami. I think I'm sort of following...Does each "slice" consist of an individual drum hit? I imagine that is not the case, since on many beats more than one drum/cymbal will be struck simultaneously -- up to four if they were sampled from a human drummer.saminurmela wrote:Songshark, the loops in Loop Collections are in REX format. The audio is marked with splits, and the midi file is simply an array of chromatical notes that play the audio chunks (slices) in order: C plays the first chunk, C# the next one and so on. There are a lot of free examples around, check out for REX or RX2 and see if your DAW supports them (Kontakt does, I think).

Same content in a different (and arguably more useful format). I'm getting both.thefyn wrote:Now I am confused:
I already have this:
Sonic Reality R.A.W. 4 DL Multibox (From a no brainer deal).
Are these IK packs similar quality to the RAW no brainer deal?
Well now I'm confused. They don't sound like elevator music at all. They are awesome!!thefyn wrote:Because I got to pick 4 of these, and they sounded like elevator music.
So what is the general consensus on the Sonic Reality R.A.W. titles? I'm no expert at all, but I was left cold from using them.zedd wrote:Same content in a different (and arguably more useful format). I'm getting both.thefyn wrote:Now I am confused:

Nothing against elevator music... (if you happen to be in an elevator.)
