Anyone up for a continuous quiz?

The format is fairly simple - it starts with an initial question, whoever correctly answers it (to the question setter's satisfaction) then gets to set the next question, and so on.

Questions should be music related, have a simple, unambiguous answer and be posed in such a way that the answer can't easily be found by googling ('who had a hit in '79 with..', would just be answered by the first person who managed to copy/paste it into their search bar ;) ). The question setter may go on to provide additional clues.

First question:

If 51 is a Spanish estate what colour is 73?

Post

Blue.

Fac 51 Haçienda was a nightclub in Manchester financed by Factory Records, and Fac73 is 'Blue Monday' by New Order.

I Googled it, and it was easy. :p

Yes, well done Fex.

(I guess you googled Spanish estate - there's several Spanish words for estate, so you still have to know, or guess that Hacienda was the right one in this case and then know or find out the Factory catalogue number system, etc - so not exactly a straightforward google)

Your turn to think up a question...

No, that's irrelevant.

Nope, I Googled "73 Blue". It was a lucky first guess. I was expecting to have to Google "73 Red" etc, or to give up. I didn't really expect the strategy to work, but the third hit on the page says "FAC 73 Blue Monday". Then I Googled "Fac 51", and I knew I had you!

Your clues, Sir:

Dirk Wears White Sox - Adam and the Ants

"Cleopatra" is track six.

Assuming that I got that right, here's the next question:

293.66, 311.13, 261.63, 246.94 (A=440) Who?

Yep.

(That was quick - I thought that might take a while to decipher.)

Have another go.

What is the meteorological connection between RLJ's account of South Western skies, a minimalist composition played by a jazz guitarist, and a musical excerpt from a Spaghetti Western?
