The way I read it is that the perks will indeed be good if you bought it twice, no matter whether from IK or from eSoundz. All the registrations are through IK Multimedia, so it is probably going to be a free choice or a "free something" dropped into the account of everyone who has registered 2 or more Multiboxes.

I also ordered one from IK and one from eSoundz. :-)
Actually, I tried to make something extra happen on that side but it is way too complicated to CHANGE how the whole system works... it's funny because we do it all the time on the fly with esoundz but that is far from the norm. However, I do have SOME good news on that side. The GB was going to stop at 5 for 1. But I convinced a possible 6th one at a higher goal just so there's even more to get. However, that would be something for people that join at IK or on esoundz. You just get more if you get it from esoundz no matter what. But, I am still pushing for everyone to be able to get more no matter where they get it (from IK or an IK dealer etc) don't worry... of course it still as always depends on the "group" and your ability to get more people to join. So far I am amazed! What a great Group Buy!
Buy if from here you get this.....buy it from there you get that.........it's all the same freakin product. Looks like it will hit 5 x 1. That's all I'll need.

saminurmela wrote:Nope, this is not a mac/pc problem. The .ikmp is a Combi-preset. It goes to the Sampletank's Presets -folder. The child patches are in the Instruments folder and are .stip on both platforms.

You can load Combis from the LOAD-menu in Sampletank. Javaj probably used the Save button in the upper part of Sampletank (too many buttons are named Save anyway... there's two for FX, one for Combis, one for User presets, one for quick searches).
Oh my... you are oh so right. I don't know what I was thinking... except that I was expecting a .stip extension for the child presets.

JavaJ, the save buttons at the top of the SampleTank GUI are for saving setups of multiple instruments. Those are called Combis and are not child presets. You want to use the Save button on the right side of the GUI (between the RENAME and DELETE buttons).

After you have saved a child using this save, you will see the child appear in your instrument list connected to the parent.
Oh man- that explains why I couldn't build up a Combi with my updated sounds. Everytime I would load one, it would erase all my other slots- doh! OK, I need a manual and can't seem to find one installed on my Mac with the XT player- any idea where it would be located. I am glad I tested with this one preset. I also saved about 20 or so this way- so now I will go back and do the save the proper way.

So, if I save using the save on the right hand side- will it also show up in the folder listings alongside the original child presets? Should I do it this way or is the way I did it actually preferred (as I read someone did prefer it that way as it keeps it outside of the folder listing and less likely to be orphaned I guess).

Sure would like a manual so I don't make more of these newb mistakes. I would like to get a full bank out so everyone could at least have a collection fo what I think sounds good (like that is possible- I am definately no sound designer like Master Squidds!).

28 more to go till 5x1- let's post everywhere and see if we can do this today!

Yes, exactly. :-)

You should absolutely NOT do it with the combis. That completely limits their useability. That is not the purpose of combis.

After you have saved the child presets, however, you *could* provide a Combi which gives us your 16 favorite presets, or something. That would be a use of the Combi Save.

I don't know why they hide it. I found it on my Mac, but it doesn't even have the name of the product in the PDF and it is stored in an obscure location. Look here:

Speak for yourself friend! :-)

I want it to hit 6 x 1 because there are exactly 12 packs that I really need (now that I've decided to collect the "Loop Slice" versions of the RAW packs I had already).

If Squids adds the 3 missing Latin packs, I will join a third time, so that I will be guaranteed all 15 packs. 8)

Yes I would like it to hit that point too, becouse there are exactly 2 more libraries in my interest! :-)

So what do you guys all have currently- and what do you like the most.

Here is what I have currently:
Cinematik Collection (some useable stuff here- and definately worth getting for layering upon layering)
Vocal Collection (definately adds a variety of vocal oohs/ahhs/doos/synthetic vox)
Nashville Pop Grooves (got it for more pop acoustic drum tracks)
Trip Hop Collection (sounded fun to play from the demo- my little girl likes banging around with it).

I am thinking of the my next pick being either World Grooves (although I do have some ethnic stuff in my Logic loops so maybe not), or maybe another construction kit. Anyone have any instrument packs that they find just killer and should be looked at? Looking for any suggestions.

I wouldn't miss out on the bass and guitar collections for sure. There are a few really nice pianos in the piano collection as well... together with some pretty average ones. All the slice loop packs are great too.

I was wondering about the bass and guitar ones. It seems like some of the harder ones to get right- and do they offer some articulations- I think there are guitar presets that do the slide- any bass presets that give some good wood/slap effects.

On a side note- I just saw that I missed the SR RAW loops AudioMidi no brainer deal- double doh! I am really sad I missed out on that. 4 packs for 20- that is just sick.

Can't wait to see what the esoundz options will officially be on the 15th.

It was. You might contact audioMIDI customer service and beg. They might contact eSoundz and get permission to give it to you at that price. But it has been finished for a couple of weeks, so don't count on it.
