REQUIEM is the next-generation virtual choir developed for professional composers. The library is based on a variety of new recording- and sampling techniques some which have never before been integrated in choral sample libraries. The library can literally sound like a real choir and includes both full choir (SATB), divisi groups (males/females) and solo singers - all recorded in 24 bit / 44.1khz with 3 (5.1) microphone positions. The library contains true legato intervals from piano to forte, sustains from piano to forte, staccato with repetitions, ultra forte marcato, BPM (host-synced) based latin chants recorded at different speeds across entire interval of choir, +1000 choral effects including whispers, shouts, clusters, demonic chants, sweeps, consonants without tone, claps, snaps and over +50 different types of effects.

On the one hand: wow. On the other: ouch! I'm sure it's totally worth it, and it's definitely targeted towards the pro market, but...
... how about a reduced low-budget version? I'll buy the whole shebang when Tim Burton finally lets me score his next film (or I win the lottery), but before then... no can do.

Sounds superb IMO. Way out of my price range as well.
Not trying to steal the limelight but if some of you guys are looking for a choir library and can't afford $599/$799 you could drop your vote here and help start the group buy for Bela D's library and possibly get it for $199.

So that's what you've been spelling out all these past days. I like the new flash graphic on the website, btw.
What I've heard so far does sound superb! Congratulations, guys. This must have been quite a project to produce!
As for the price... I figure the choir did not come cheap so I guess the asking price reflects that. Will definitely be checking this out... though probably not in time for the early bird discount.
Armadillo... thanks for the head's up on the Bela D. I have most of their other products and they usually do a fantastic job as well! Edit... oh yeah... have Giovani - which is great. Would probably go along quite well with Requiem.
Ariston... +1 for a 'lite' version. You don't need to score a film for Tim Burton though... just one decent trailer will more than cover it.

The demo is cool, reading your specs is pretty interesting. I have all choirs, so I will probably get this one too. Good move Troels!tonehammer wrote:REQUIEM is the next-generation virtual choir

BTW I would put a little less reverb on the overall demo, it's a little messy and probably don't give all the credit to your work.(the music is good though)
Looking forward to hear this in my studio!

"True Legato? Oh Yes Baby!"
Sounds epic! But yeah, WAY OUTTA my price range. As just a hobbyist, I'd have no use for a $800 Choir.(

Sounds very powerful and beautiful. I'm just wondering what parts of the demo are tempo synched loops, and which are the instrumental choir.
Even if a lot of the library consists of phrases, they will be most welcomed.
Seems Tonehammer is going 'Project SAM' with their prices, and symphonic sound quality.
I think EWQL have some great libraries. But I prefer the more lively, articulate, breathing, recordings found in Symphobia, and what it seems like, those in Requiem.
Tonehammer have done some fantastic work before, and now it's just getting better.
Looking forward to the release.

i usually like the Tonehammer stuff and i like the demos (some are on my mix cds), but there was something in this demo on the website, that kept me off. First i didn't know, what it was, but then i thought: i love Carl Orff (i grew up with his school works, because my music teacher in primary school was an Orff student and an enthusiast): Till now i love all these 'mallets' and drums, but i'm less then fond of the fact that so many soundtrack composers exploit mainly one piece of music during the last 15 (or almost 20) years: Orff's Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi.
How many more "fortunae" will we have to listen to after the issue of 'Requiem'?
... and people, who possibly try to do something different, won't have the money to buy it. Why should an established film composer change 'his' or 'her' style?

Oh ... My ... GOD! This is a very nice choir, but definitly way outside of my budget. A lowbudget version would certainly not hurt to have though.

I feel the same about a small version. Only choir I have ever been able to afford is the VSL download series for 99 €.
Cannot justify to spend more on such a thing.
too bad.

They definitely spent some money, that's for sure.
Absolutely amazing teaser. I am sure they will do great. I, however, will not be able to afford this no matter how much I want it. AND, since I purchased EWQL Symphonic Choirs back when it was over $1,000 and have never really used it to date, I don't feel justified in buying ANOTHER choir product.
I wish Tonehammer all the best on a fantastic looking product.
