What is even cooler- they are construction kits (and some that are even on this group buy). I downloaded all of them and spent a night putting them together as ESX instruments- and voila- perfect construction kits.

These sampletank sounds seem like a repackaging of all the old bundles from like 7-8 years ago. Guitar/Bass/Piano/Drums/Eclectic.. really nothing special. OK if you don't have anything else. Can't speak about the loop packs, maybe they are ok, but unless those sounds have been totally redone... been their, done that, not going back. Even something like Hypersonic or the stock Cubase 4/5 sounds are head and shoulders better.

This is on the level of maybe Plugsounds. Not terrible, but you don't have to look too hard for something better. This was nice -like ten years ago.

zedd- have to agree with you. Got a couple of LD titles, and although they are detailed, they just are clunky and useless and don't sit well in a mix or even trigger that well. Kinda like a built in delay or something. Unless their other titles are free -no thanks. Maybe I picked the wrong titles. (Jazz bass and some electric guitar.)

Pettinhouse -recently found these - top notch stuff. Even the freebies go beautifully in a mix.

thanks for the quality loops. my daughter has so many free loops from the web, she'll be busy for years (yes, that's a disclaimer. i'm too old for loops and am concerned listeners might think i don't write my own music)

those free st sounds used to ship with sample tank free. i forgot about them. i might have some more on the free cd ik sent to me a while back. that cd is the reason i pay attention to ik.

i just did a duplicate clean up to get rid of the accumulated freebies i also have in commercial sets. it didn't occur to me until after i was done to log the amount of commercial duplicates. as far as i remember, there were none. i have ss2 and sample moog. from this gb, i have acoustic drums, cinematik, strings, arp, and hip hop

The best sounds in Cubase, by far, are the ones provided by........Sonic Reality. You know which ones are those because their names always begin "SR". But they are plagued with the dreadful effects that come inside HalionOne, probably the worst I have ever heard (nothing in common with Cubase's own plugin effects). So, this group buy is great if you like those instruments, becuse IK effects are a lot better.

Cubase's loops are from Sonic Reality too.

Note that the free loops are not full construction kits though. For example, the freebie 52_Paths is from the R.A.W. set Trip hop, and the full 52_Paths has 29 loops vs. the 14 loops in the free one. And the Trip hop R.A.W. set has 28 such construction kits, so they really are not giving out too much for free

But the freebies are great anyway, and are a good taster for the loops that will hopefully be included in the esoundz bonuses.

Edit: forgot to mention that I was surprised how well the rex loops work in energyXT, instant tempo matching and beat slicing (but only in eXT 2, not 1.4).

what would be the best way to get st to see all my st samples without messing up any established structure or displaying unnecessary folders. when i point to the ik folder, i get folders listed that don't have samples. also, the ss2 sounds are excluded as they are in a different folder which contains folders Sonik Synth 2 Presets, SS2Instruments, and SS2Pref. thanks. i feel some massive combis coming on

I finally installed all of the sounds this morning. I like the sounds alot and they are better than I expected. With a little tweaking and eq they can come out pretty good.

I took 15 mins to make a demo beat using the sounds.

I used my kick and snares
Guitars from the electric collection
String,Synth,Brass,Hihats,Crash and Bass from Hip hop instruments
Boat call from the Cinematic collection

Best $25 I have spent in a while. Much better than the mexican food I bought last night.
