Good Re-sampling tool for single cicle waveforms?

I think it works. I just try and it work fine.
You need to select filename '1' in the load path, and also 1 in the save path.
hmm, we'll get it going

Probably too late, but check the link in my signature...Juan Mendoza wrote:Do you know the formula i should use for this calculation?teempee wrote:Sample your single cycle, measure it, take your calculator, pitch the percentage. If it's off by few samples then trim it.
A sample of 4096 samples long, played at 192kHz sampling rate has a frequency of 46.875 Hz. The rest is simple multiplication and division to work out ratios etc.
Say you sampled a single cycle of a low C note (about 65.4 Hz) at 48kHz. The single cycle is about 734 samples long. To stretch that to 4096 samples you stretch it by a factor of 4096 / 734 = 5.5804

By the way FYI: In a next version of MU.LAB, the resampling process will be done instantly when you do "Open Waveform", i.e. in a single step.

Batch processing isn't a bad idea mutools. You can load your own banks. I guess I do that with my Entrancer. btw has anyone used my little app successfully apart from me?

I think Jo 'll be glad to ad them and anyway you have the right because it's you're own samples with your own hardware.Juan Mendoza wrote:Some nice onesSimon Posford wrote:What Hardware instruments are you sampling Juan Mendoza?
I hope to hear them soon.
the intention is to reincarnate those HM machines into Mulab! The first one will be the drummachine i'm developing that includes some 808 909 sine waves and much more. I plan to release it for free for mulab reg users but I still don't know if i can do it like this.
Nix: i'll make a "big thanks to you" note when i release this little monster
I wish you good luck in you're work!

I'm recording some analog waveforms from my HW synths and i need to take single cicle waveforms (i.e. one cicle of a saw or a sine wave). Then i need to re-sample each wave so that it matches exactly 4096 samples.
Just as matter of curiocity, why whould you want ot re-sample the HW if you already have it when you know upfront that you would never be able to get close to original sound (not just OSCs, but Filters, etc.)? May be I'm missing something here?

First one is that with the proper modular synth engine i'll be able to get close in some cases, not always but in some cases it's possible to get some of the charecter and feeling of a hw unit. Also, i trully believe that mulab has such "proper modular synth engine", and i know that is constantly improving and that with time will be a very desired synth!
I already did some experiments and the results are amazing, in some cases i get close to the original, in some others not, and in some others you can surpass the original one because of the unlimited power and control that a soft modular synth has. Believe me!
Let's take as an example the acidlab bassline that i mentioned before. This synth rocks, has an awesome sound, but it's only a 2 octave synth:? and can be played only by the internal sequencer, and believe me this sequencer is crap! (and yes i have more analog basslines with analog sequencers but the one from the acidlab simply sucks). The filters are nice analog ones, but, have you tested mulabs filters? OMG, it's amazing what you can do with this analog base sound from the acidlab and the filters and incledible modular options that mulab has. And midi controlled! that is very important!
This is just an example, there are houndreds like this one, and casually i have a couple of weird and good sounding machines that i would like to reincarnate but in mulab style.
The other reason is that i make sound libraries etc, and i'm currently focussed with mulab, so why not?

I still can't get it to run, i don't understand why, seems that does the job but the waves doesn't appear on the destination folder. I think i don't understand your instructions, do you mean that i have to rename the waves in order to be converted?nix808 wrote: btw has anyone used my little app successfully apart from me?

Hey Juan,
Sorry for not making it clear. Yes, you have to name the files from 1 ascending(1,2,3,4.... ). The rendered files will be named from 1 ascending too. Then when you load the path, you select the form '1' in the load dialog. Then load the save path, you need to name your file '1' .
Hope it works now

Hi Nix!
is there a way to do this process without changing the names? Names are so much important when you manage let's say 100 or 1000 waves as i do.
