I might be misunderstanding the colors request for RGB, but that's what the text strings actually appear to be; RGB values from 0-255, in hexadecimal number (O-F for each digit) form; two hex digits per color.
Maybe the request was actually for more shading or somesuch?
Anyway, with Synth1, whatever will be will be. Ichiro will do what is best.
Maybe he could move on and either develop a new synth from the ground up, or add a whole lot more to Synth1, but call it Synth2 instead. It sounds like he could give the commercial developers a run for the money.

The presets allows you to specify 1 of 6 colors. 32 colors would be more useful so you can color code your presets.

Pretty low priority on my suggestion list, but this would make organizing the patches easier! Seems like a good idea, that would be relatively easy to do, and wouldn't change the legacy patch bank compatibility!jobromedia wrote:The presets allows you to specify 1 of 6 colors. 32 colors would be more useful so you can color code your presets.

I did a duplicatefile check and came up with about 9600 unique presets.

Well, too late now.
Also, regarding Synth1 front panel GUI, I would DEFINITELY change the font. Courier just takes too much space because it's monospaced... And it's ugly.

That looks real purdy!!! Yes I think it would be great if there could be an option for different skins. I think I saw another one (maybe in this thread?) that looked really nice too. I guess we'll have to wait and see but Gui enhancement maybe isn't a first priority but eventually why not?.This thread got big fast with lots of nicker bunching.noisefield wrote:some basic skinning to synth1 could be nice, at least no more "pain" in simple changing synth1 colors, don't even think its need to move everything around..
(some fast(obvious fast) editing, a raw example)

I see it exactly like crimsonwarlock.hakey wrote:Again, you're the one who is reading this as a selfish 'give me' attitude, whereas others see it merely as an open forum discussion, with various opinions and suggestions being offered.crimsonwarlock wrote: But what we see now is that this 'give me this, give me that' mentality is already breaking up the 'synth1 community'.
I hope it will stop.

Let's don't forget that Synth1 has up until recently been dead for 4 years, it is only natural when a programmer starts to update a popular program / plugin, and when users see the author finally getting to a forum addicted to his program / plugin that suggestions starts to pop up from all around the world. I'm not saying "Give me this" or "Give me that", I hints the author in thinking in new directions.

I hope the luddite mentality some have towards Synth1's evolution will stop.
