I don't quite know what I will get for those extra two we will receive when we hit 6x1, but I figure not is the time to really expand my sounds catalog.

60 more joins since it was determined yesterday that we needed at least 50 a day. Pretty Cool.

You never know about these things. I wouldn't be surprised by a last minute surge! I feel confident that we will reach 6X1.

I don't care if these libraries are "old" they are still great. I have been using the piano and strings libraries since I started making music and I still do to this day. Now I got the updated libraries of these for about $10 each thanks to this group buy along with some other nice stuff. Also the support at IK has been great. Earlier in the thread I got I posted I got locked out of my account, which I did. But someone called me Monday and got me all set up again. Also told me I could call him directly if I ever have a problem or need anything. IK runs a good business.

i have tons or raw ob goodness in ss2
i don't need bass
i don't need guitar
i have everything covered in omnisynth
i don't need more electronic drums
i don't need more vocals
i don't need "world" sounds

that leaves vintage keys and pianos

the vintage keys seems to have some detail as the number of sounds is small for the size. it doesn't appear to overlap ss2.

the piano set seems detailed for the size to sound ratio. the demo sounds great. the 7 foot in the demo sounds like the ss2 7foot but with layers. the pack seems to out shine ss2's pianos.

any suggestions on what to choose? i'm leaning towards the piano pack

The piano pack is nice. I have both, the vintage pack is cool though. If i had to choose i would do the piano pack.

I'm skeptical... especially since when you click on the SampleTank 2XL links the page they provide a bunch of samples available for purchase in numerous formats but NOT for SampleTank. Aside from that page, they list all the main samplers on other pages, but never mention SampleTank, though they include the ST image.

If someone else wants to try this and report back that it is not bogus, then I might try it out.

they arent actually Ik multimedia samples, but they are just some samples that site made for USE with sampletank or those other samples. I might try it out. I think i downloaded a free pack from them before of loops. It wasnt all that bad, but I can't recall if it was them or not.
