in miroslav philharmonik does any sound have velocity layers?
ps. nice samples but its bit complicated use different samples for different velocities. i know its old library but currently my orchestral stuff is limited ik multimedia total workstation 2 (which have this miroslav philharmonik) and i add later in this month Logic Pro if all goes well. And even after this i going add few stuff for my sound arsenal i almost sure Logic solve these problems what i mean with my sound palette. Buth what i not yet sure. But i almost sure all depends things what are totally offtopic.

No velocity layers.
IK programmed some Performance Patches that have velocity layers.
These are not for individual instruments though. They bring in different sections or other things.
I find it better the way Miro is set up. Velocity layers very often get in the way.
If you want velocity layers you can build them for some instruments.
For example, the french horn.
It has Fr Horn 1, fr Horn f, Fr Horn ff.
Load each one in a separate slot and set all midi to the same channel.
Now click on the 'Range' button for each and set the velocity range for that 'layer'.
You could even add the staccato layer and make it the highest layer, or lowest if you prefer.
Then there are AMV patches that have a faster attach when you play softly.
You can then turn the volume up on these passages to hoe loud you want it.
People sometimes complain that Miro doesn't have a fast enough attack and they are often unaware of this feature.
This is a good sounding library once you know how to use it.
Read both the regular manual and the sounds manual.
Also listen to the demo tunes on the IK site to hear what it is capable of.

In fact i listened them about 3-5 times (some times even after i buyed).
and really nice library i must say. Much nicer my timbre taste than Eastwest stuff and maybe even Vienna is only 2nd to my taste in some things... and i hate over processor hungry software i mean software which uses cpu more than necessary.
ps. velocity layer tip is nice even i know this... and only one where actually i have big problem is trumpet i dont found soft trumpet yet and very sharp either. i must check how well these other sources what say helps with this thing.
ps. i think also woodwindws and strings need softer variations... but maybe filter is suitable this. when i listened some samples i think maybe brass is biggest melodic symphonicorcehstra group which really needs different velocity samples.

Actually Sonic Reality programmed it, not IK, and Miroslav sampled it mainly with one velocity in mind. However there is a variety of different dynamics and a few tricks to get more out of it than the original $4,000 Miroslav orchestra library had to offer.

this is must remembered this orginal price i mean its very cheap today. Still have some nicest sounds what i know to my taste. ps. this velocity range tip is nice saddly same type thing is not possible mid controller i think. and i know time when orginally made manyh samples dont have huge memory.Squids wrote:Actually Sonic Reality programmed it, not IK, and Miroslav sampled it mainly with one velocity in mind.
