If the wavetable size is so small, maybe this guy took single-cycle wavforms from a virus to make this? (I personally don't know enough about them to speak on any authority)...

At any rate, the demos seem nice, and I'm sure Access won't be happy to see this thing in its current incarnation (name, skin, Samples(?). It definately screams "Takedown Notice! :-)

I assumed he had sampled a Virus too, but, no , he made the tables in cooledit. He is not calling it Access Virus anymore, but VirusB, I don't know how he'll go with that.
I wonder what I want in here
-my site is gone and music a mess

Really cool that he made the tables himself! I really want this thing to succeed. I think that in its current incarnation, it is a little too pricey, but with a little work and if he can avoid a lawsuit, it could turn out to be a pretty cool instrument. I freely admit I like the sounds from the demos. I wish him well with getting this thing going. With a little work on the web site, a few changes on the instrument (Linear instead of circular controls, improved filters, removing the extra GUI elements (so that only one GUI skin is in the DLL instead of multiple, selectable skins), oversampling, name change that doesn't encourage lawsuits, etc.) this could turn out to be quite decent. :-)

P.S. What we need to do is get him to come to this site so that we can communicate with him what we'd like to see. (of course, we could end up scaring him off). :hihi:

It is definitly an intresting synth, but with ZynAddSubFx available for free, and it truely can create virusish sounds, I'll stick with it.
Best regards from Johan Brodd.

I have the Virus wavetable, unfortunately nothing in SE that can play it (& too broke to buy what can). This could turn out to be really cool.
Suggestions :
Maybe $40.00 - I don't think many people can afford, or will be willing to pay $132.00 for a synthedit creation - no matter how good it sounds.

Snappy envelopes - There's a trick I learned: Set the low value on the Attack to -0.05 (I'm not sure this is right & have to check. If you set this just right, you get a real fast attack. Too much & it clicks.)

MS _ Please, you didn't bother or scare anyone. Much respect for this creation and we all really hope you continue. This is a quality synth & just what SE needs to get the respect it deserves. Keep it up!!!

That's cool that you have a support forum for your site. I like that! However, please don't stop coming to KVR--I hang out here more than any other forum, and I bet a lot of the other people do too.

Thanks again,

thank u...

OK guys, you heard it. Free full versions of the software to a moderator, and for soundset designing. I'd have been interested in doing the moderating back when I was single, but my family now takes all of my extra time (except for the lurking and occasional comments I make here). :-)

I think that sounds like a pretty good deal. I got the same deal when I set up and moderated the Bitheadz list group... of course, they're gone now. ;-)

This "link" just goes to your forum, and I can not find a link to this synth anywhere :?

So has anyone actually played with this???

I'll do a bank of presets for it, if it sounds good.

I LUV Access synths!!!

So far i was not able to get anything from that synth except a picture of the GUI so let's wait for the final version before we praise it like it's the best synth ever released. And yes, 100+ $ for a Synthedit synth is quite much, except if it's called OP-X Pro:
http://www.sonicprojects.ch/opxpro/purchase.html

BTW i have a real Virus TI here for comparison...

PS:
The Virus is already a kind of "legend" among the hardware synths so if you fail in doing a proper emulation prepare to be tarred and feathered... :hihi:
