Just went through them, very good work! Too bad the child presets cannot be marked as default...

Edit: sorry Barbecutie, took your spot by accident!

Through IK You get XT with 1 gb of sounds and then can choose 5 other libraries

If you join through esoundz you get the above plus an additional exclusive library (or instead of the exclusive library you can choose a RAW pack of loops or Studio Drums Capsule)
Thanks,I went with esoundz

I've only got the 4 libraries and 1 gb of sample tank xt sounds though..I don't see where I can get the 5th library or the exclusive library from esoundz..

You don't load them into slots. SampleTank does this automatically by stretching the samples across the keyboard if you haven't specified note names in the samples.
Woops sorry, ment "part" not "slot".
Tried to import several WAV files with same result: instrument is created (all 3 files), however it is not loading when i double click on it in the list.

I am wondering..maybe the import feature is (badly) disabled on XT ? :-o
No features are disabled on XT. XT is version 2.5.4 of the full version of SampleTank engine. You mentioned support - do you have a ticket open? If you PM me the ticket number I'll alert the team and ask about it. Thanks!

woops, nevermind I now found the 5th library.. :D I guess I just wait on the sounds from esoundz?

Post

@Peter:
ticket number is "pm'ed" !
Good to know import is supported (or at least supposed to) as abillity to import and benefit from sampletank's good tweakability played a major part in my choice ! (plus the super über group deal !)

@all:
Here's my input on the banks i did choose:
- Piano: pretty good stuff.
- Electric guitar 2: Good and very diverse.
- Bass : Very nice
- Accoustic drums: overall ok but bad volume on presets.
- Vintage keys: Ok overall but expected more Rhode type sounds.

Did anyone test the Omnisynth 2 and World instuments pack ?

Post

World Instruments has some great patches, recommended.

Omnisynth, I don't like as much. Feel that between the 1gb library and the other packs I got (Cinematic, Symphoni String), it's redundant.....

Only prob with import is when you import loops it will not continue to loop when holding down that key. If there is a secret to it please let me know.. Also I may join a second time as I have 22.00 in Jampointz!!

Just got in and here I was saying the other day that I was all set after picking up Independence Pro. :shrug:

Anyway, after comparing patch lists, is it me or does the Country Folk Rhythms loop set seem to offer "more" than the Acoustic Guitar Collection 2 multi in terms of guitar sounds? I understand that the Country Folk Rhythms set is just a bunch of loops, but it seems to have quite of bit of chord and rhythm/strumming patches that I can mangle to my heart's desire. I'm not a fan of country, but for pure sound manipulation, would it be the better library for me?

Please open a support ticket for this and they'll sort you out. Thanks!

I'd select both. They each serve different purposes, and/or can compliment each other quite well.

I'm thinking about getting SS 2.Does anyone know if there is any overlap between the Xpansion Tanks and Sonik Synth 2?

Post

A little bit of overlap with SS2, but not much. A few presets here and there.
