Is development still continuing on LMMS?

Yeah, what happened to this?

Cusis' work on the UI is really, really just AWESOME. If I downloaded the package for LMMS and I saw THAT, I think my heart would stop.

Part of the problem is the core linux operations and structures get dumped and
'upgraded' with even more cryptic and baffling BS, before the devs alpha can
even get on the downloads for testing.

Each new linux distro reinvents the wheel, and the folks making the apps all are convinced that only their wheel is round. Add to that a seeming disparity between
the raw brainpower needed to code functioning software, and a simpletons common sense
to create a gui for musicians with a button on it labeled 'Load Vst'

The guys who made a rather nice audio distro for SUSE, (called JAD) finally
had to wave the middle finger of goodbye, and switch to Macs, rather than

til they woke up in some crazy asylum with padded walls

In the new Ubuntu or example, a mystic textfile that, finally, after 5 years, nearly everyone knows what it is, where it is, and how to modify it, so the 'buntu boys, in
a stroke of sheer genious, not only change its location, but make it a binary file, so newbies can't even call Aunt Suzy for help to edit it. All you need is a masters degree, or a spare week spent sorting through the documentation, and the solution is obvious, yet another covert command needed, replacing the basic text editing that worked just fine only yesterday.

Glokraw, what text file are you referring to? I use Ubuntu 10.04 (and previously used 9.10) and have no knowledge of a mystic text file that was drastically changed...

Didn't say it was changed, let alone drastically changed, but its long standing location was moved, and instead of it being a text file, its now a binary. If I ain't broke,

Sad to see it on hold... it have potentials, you can make music wiht it but it is extrem,ely clumsy & sound a little bit cheap compared to FL Studio (the app it is trying to copy)....

Just to let everyone know, i am more than happy to continue work on the GUI, however, like many here i have not heard much about the development. I will drop by the irc channels to see whats going on.

Linux midi and audio is an entertaining excursion to make now and then. Some have been doing nothing but for a long time and make great things with it. I always emerge feeling that, "Ardour is great, Jack is very cool when I can get things to connect the way I want, but DAMN if I don't just LOVE my Windows DAWs now that I'm back!"

I then vow to buy a Mac some day when I'm rich and run Ardour on that, and then later think, "Why? Everything is working fine here in Windows." And then a certain calm descends, the nurse arrives and I take my medication without complaint.

So it is still going. I would also be interesting in doing some GUI work for LMMS; it just so happens I use all free open-source software for my artwork

Hi there,
I'm new to the forum and new to LMMS and to be honest new to all of it really. I've come accross an amazing arpeggiater called kirnu. however it doesn't come with any native instruments so a synth has to be patched in or vice versa, not really sure yet (help!!). Is it possible to patch plugins to other plug ins in LMMS. I've tried all the possible permutations of midi in midi out using for example the triple osc. with the kirnu vst.
Maybe it's not.
Loving the ideas for new UI that people have been coming up with.
Any feedback would be brilliant and cheers for LMMS.
