I gave up on it too soon. Not much for using loops I'm afraid.zedd wrote:Oh yeah. Well what do you know? I didn't even realize that. But that's the beautiful thing about these ReTanks Slice Loop instruments. You can create your own grooves with them, with even more realistic results than with many virtual drum kits, provided the original loop has the kind of sound you are going for. It is particularly useful for percussion parts. It is the best way to record a believable tambourine track, for example--aside from recording a real tambourine live.Beardedone wrote:I gave up on it too soon. Not much for using loops I'm afraid.
These Slice Loops are definitely useful, once you know how and when to use them.

More or less a mini-tutorial of zedd's good advice:
For those unfamiliar with working with sliced loops and midi, I think it's important to make the distinction that these are not midi loops in a "traditional" sense where a certain note is the kick and another is the snare etc.
These midi files are a chromatic series of notes where each note corresponds with and plays one slice of the loop. Unique mutations of the loop can be made by moving these notes up and down in the piano roll; for example if the snare sound is the 4th slice (let's say that is note D#2 in the midi file) you can slide a later note down to D#2 and the snare will play again at that point. If you place 8 D#2's in a row you will get 8 snare hits, etc..
Of course since these are sliced loops, the 4th slice could be anything from a snare to a hi hat to a djembe rim hit to a bass note depending on the loop.
You can completely re-arrange the loop by moving the midi notes around; vertically to change the sound and horizontally to mess with timing.
Fun stuff..

Hey guys. Our main esoundz web guy had internet troubles the other day so he couldn't complete it but I am happy to report that as of this morning it IS there. Your extra freebie choice from esoundz. I haven't had a chance to read up on this thread but anyway I thought you'd want to know. An email blast is going out soon to tell you but you might as well hear about it here, not. A lot of choices! Enjoy. Thanks for buying the group buy from www.esoundz.com

Hey Squids,
I posted this message in the other thread earlier today... but it is already 3 pages later and probably lost in the shuffle! Hopefully you'll see it here.
-----------------------
Since we are expecting download codes later today,
it would be great if you could answer the following questions.
(1) Are the choices you listed yesterday in addition to the 1GB Wild Card bonus that was originally announced if we joined through eSoundz? I don't believe it is the same as the following choice, since the following is only 580Mb:
(2) Someone has mentioned numerous times that you were offering an extra pack to those who had originally purchased SampleTank 2XL through eSoundz in the past. Is this true? If so, I am one of those.
(3) repeating this question from yesterday...
Thanks in advance for the clarifications.

(3) repeating this question from yesterday...
You mentioned these exclusive extras more than a year ago, and I was under the impression that this was content that was neither in SampleTron *or* in the Squids Tron Collection Volume 1 that we bought in a Group Buy many years ago. According to the product description, however, there is some overlap:Squids wrote:Squids Tron Exclusive Extras
http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=2173
How much overlap is there with the Squids Tron Collection Volume 1?eSoundz Product Description wrote:Squids Tron Extras contains over 850 Mb of EXCLUSIVE downloadable extra Tron sounds such as Ampex full duration tube Trons, Toy Piano and Harmoniums (taken from Squids Tron Collection Volume 1) in SampleTank format!
This is a must have for Sampletron Owners that own SampleTank as it has the sounds from Squids Tron that were not included in Sampletron!
Thanks in advance for the clarifications.

Hey Squids
What happened to the extra freebie for ST2 customers? (those that already owned ST2 before the group buy). Is there still going to be an extra special something for us?
Thanks for this group buy! Just picked up the RAW Latin Brazilian grooves as my bonus. Can't wait to have fun with it

Before I make my selection, I just wanted to confirm: Do I get to pick only 1 from the choices above AND is this part of the 1GB Wild Card bonus? Or is there a seperate 1GB Wild Card bonus ?
I want to maximize my free selection(s), but I'm not quite clear on how this bonus works. If you could break it down for me, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks so much for this offer and as a first time XP-Tank user/group buyer, I'm extremely happy with this great deal!!

I may be mistaken but I think that you get to choose either the Wild Card bonus OR one of those products you've listed, each time you join the GB through eSoundz. {You do also get a different 1GB library from IKMM.)
The exclusive 1 gigabyte "Wild Card" bonus library features previously unreleased ST sounds from SR and more.

Is there even a 1GB Wild Card Library to choose from on DownloadableSoundz? I don't want to redeem my code until I know it is in there.

it may be that the Wild Card bonus is this one:
http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=1662
but I thought that that product had been available for some time. So I'm officially confused; I'll ask Squids.

The Wild Card bonus and the "Sonic Reality Bonus Disc for SampleTank 2.5 " are 2 different things; and the the Wild Card bonus is evolving (just like "Cynthia" - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/science_and_ ... 132762.stm )

Hmmmmmm. I potentially like the sound of that... but I'm not sure what it means.DarkStar wrote:Update:

Is everyone still getting that Wild Card Bonus then? Can I go redeem my code and choose from the available packs and then still look forward to that Wild Card Bonus at some point?
Wish there was a definitive answer.
