We need to get away awhile from the moving targets of unlimited choice imho, establish one constant factor (for now) and really start to fathom out the amps.
In the real world those mentioned cabs are chameleons, letting the character of the amp shine through ime. Granted, not always ideal, but still very solid and typical.
External impulses are an option, too.
Just thinking out loud ...

So when is someone going to invent a real "chameleon" cab with real physical morphing speaker types, maybe a digital hybrid. It would be a real world actual hardware cab, that would have the same concepts as choosing IRs, but digitally controlled right from the cab itself. Say I want V30s, then with a flick of a button I have GT75s, or a Jensen, or mix and match. If Gibsun can build rob0t guitars, then surely this could be done somehow with all this crazy technology.

What plugin, and possibly you posted to the wrong thread? Certainly that was not done with a real guitar?

Have you tried the Nebula impulses? Those should at least react to some degree, unlike Recabinet.

Yeah I've seen their ad in Premiere Guitar - my hero Roger "Jim" McGuinn of the Byrds uses one with his old Roland Jazz Chorus and his killer Ric and gets some amazing lush sounds from it. I loved the Byrds back in the 60's... best harmonies I ever heard back then and they did "Dylan" too in Folk-Rock fashion.
Now the proud owner of an avid 11 Rack, Running Pro Tools 10.3.3 - for me it's heaven!

Thanks for the Jangle Box Eric, got it bookmarked :) Since i don't have a compressor 'sustainer' stomp so that looks like one i would go for if i did need one. Saying that im gonna be dropping a Fernades Sustainer system in one of my 2xHB guitars at some point but it still doesnt replace decent stomps just adds to the options is the way i look (Read: Justify) making a purchase - GAS sick - Totally. However with studio stuff i don't get any excitement from buying but still any guitar or bass related gear and boom i get giddy still :hihi:

Anyway as susiwong was saying getting a setup of maybe three real world, well known speaker/cabs and their mic'd sound to behave as if they were the real thing in stead of an infinte number of choices i like that idea as when push comes to shove give me 3 infinately useable models oppose to lots of semi-usable ones, like a good amp that can give me two or three sounds as that is all i need/want *Myself anyway* and on that note, I noticed this but have never heard nor tried it out, looks like it could be a possible answer:

http://www.two-notes.com - Two Notes Audio Engineering Torpedo VB-101 oh and VM-202 just noticed as well (french company for all us uk/europeans) and distributed in the USA by Diffusion Audio, Inc. : http://www.diffusion-audio.com

As said i have only seen a single advert for it, it is a rackmount processor which looks quite Focusrite Liquid-Y in appearance and looks convolution based so...

Would be intrested to hear if anyone has tried one or heard one in action? If not im gonna try and find one in the UK to try out if i can

Its got to be worth a look people (*unless your packing a Fractal Audio Systems AXE-FX/AFX Ultra mind  too pricey atm for me*)

All the best :)

Dean

Edit: The demo's on the website sound good/impressive to my ear FWIW

I'll do you a check mate but it will bounce :hihi: your beyond help and you know it. Hey at least its not on some expensive overpriced Motor vehicle like some guys seem to blow thier load over: Something i never have look at in a  like way. I mean justify them as investments and then it alls good. Convince yourself that they are items of need and not lust then GAS = problem solved. Basically lie to yourself/its how i do it anyways

It just a little Dark art dabbling :p /Crossroads style soul selling ;=[

It took me longer to program the drums than to get the sounds i required and to lay the guitar tracks down. I ain't tried the AXE-FX/AFX Ultra but i would like to at some point for sure :)

I don't usally post my stuff on forums or the music cafe thing; but hey since were talking about recorded sounds i susspose they are relevent

Dean

Edit: I do like the sounds Andrew, very 'real' sounding to me. But i ain't gonna try an AXE-FX out unless i have enough to buy one incase it speaks to me, you know? Or i will be moaning i can't have one even though i have tried/loved it :D
