It makes perfect sense - now you get the ARP/Solina 'String Ensemble', the Eminent 310, Moog Opus 3, Roland RS202/VP330, PolyMoog Keyboard Strings I and II and 'Vox Humana' and now the Elka Rhapsody making this (arguably) the most complete and definitive collection of 70s string machines for Kontakt in one package with a UI reminiscent of the originals'. It may (or may not) be worth mentioning that back in the day, this collection wouldn't have given you much change from £6,000 or so!
From a geeky perspective, it's interesting to note that despite using almost identical technology of the time (i.e. divide-down oscillator into chorus), they all sound so different, sometimes drastically, sometimes subtley, but each of them providing a certain 'colour' and texture.
Same deal as before - if you've bought previous versions and fancy having the update with the Elka as well, drop me a line (steve at hollowsun dot com) with a copy of your receipt and I will arrange a personal download of the update for you. Similarly, if you've bought both my string synth collection and Forgotten Keys' Elka, I can accommodate you.
Please note that this doesn't extend to anyone who has only bought Forgotten Keys' Elka
FORGOTTEN KEYS's excellent Elka 490 is still available to purchase separately for the silly price of £7.50 if you prefer to just go for that.
Apologies if there's any confusion with this but it is pretty simple...
- Any new customers will now get the Elka 490 in the collection as of now
- Existing customers who have bought previous versions of my string synths and fancy the addition, drop me a line with a copy of your receipt
I am delighted to be collaborating with FORGOTTEN KEYS on this. We're both small cottage industries working in similar areas of hand crafted vintage samples so it seems sensible to pool our resources from time to time in an informal co-operative rather than be in competition with each other. Not only do we benefit but, hopefully, so do you.
Cheers,
Steve
