I have another question that you good people may know. I would like to use the automap app in a live setting running live off my laptop. Whould I need a venue that has wi-fi or is there a way I can sync the two without it?

i seem to remember it doing that once on my old ipod. a real pain in the A***
Yes, if you remove the apps from the iTunes Mobile Applications folder, they'll be deleted from your iPhone the next time you sync.

To avoid this happening, you can download and install new apps on the iPhone itself but don't sync back to iTunes.

Before you delete any apps, manually copy/back up the apps you want to keep to another drive. If you DO lose stuff, though, be aware that once you've bought it, you can always re-download it free at another time from the App Store.

Personally, I'd seriously think about upgrading storage on the lappy.

Kind regards.

We've got iRig coming out soon, with low-latency AmpliTube iPhone, for guitar and bass players out there: http://www.amplitube.com/irig - there's also a video of someone playing along with a track here:

My 2 favorite apps right now are

1) Aurora

2) Music studio (closest thing to a DAW with midi and wav export)

Post

got a few more.. the app addiction is setting in!

everyday looper- an easy and versatile little audio looper
igog-drum pads (also trigger by playing w/fingers on surface phone is on
eg tabletop!)
finger jam- fun sample pads w/record in and sequencer
Bebot-crazy synth- much more than it first appears.
voice band-trigger and record instrument samples with your voice (detects pitch)
idrum(x2) ..err well its izotope!
pocket organ- not quite Ni's B4 but not bad either
rjdj trippy-sounds come in from your mic and get remixed/glitched into a tune
great in a busy city
spl meter-needed for work and noisy guitarists ("hey man, you're at 130db!")

also some great camera/art apps
hipstamatic-retro instamatic look photos
swankolab-virtual darkroom w/chemicals
brushes-art stuff
toon paint-make cartoon look from photos (works really well actually)

now i'm broke

Beatmaker is also great !

Someone knows a app that does similar to metasynth or atmogen /audiopaint ?
Something that make images hearable or to draw something.

also beatwave is a nice little one, it just got a nice new update and you can buy bundles of extra sounds.. its a good time waster! (also records performance now)

anyone come across a speed app for audio? - so you can play audio at slower speeds to work out stuff.

Post

not sure Shane mate. Im getting my iPhone in around 8 days and am gonna rinse this thread for all the decent app recommends. you can do it with the built in thing as we did it with a recording using the built-in mic to capture this proper redneck spouting/ranting which im going to use in a track off the crime HD channel on Sky, but its no better or probably is worse than using Quicktime to re-pitch and speed up/down the audio. Sounds amusing but is not very musical sounding or useful man

All the best
