And you rarely see Allen on any forum... at least not as Allen! He might really be Vurt, or TristezaOrange, or Reverend Rhythm, or even zedd!zedd wrote:I recommend that you state your request directly to Allen (at) eSoundz (dot) com, explaining to him what's going on. What do you think, Squids or Allen?
If not, how much in the Best of Sonic Strings library in is the Symphony Strings and Symphony Strings 2 packs? Loved the demo and had recommended it to a friend who's buying this week... oops! Help me not look like a schmuck!

Very good point. You may be right. I have seen him as "Allen" on the eSoundz forums, but perhaps he is incognito in these public forum threads. There are some very helpful people here, including our Reverend.Reverend Rhythm wrote:And you rarely see Allen on any forum... at least not as Allen! I am not Allen... but just in case I may be tricking you, you'd all better be really nice to me from now on!

Thanks Rev and Zedd! Your posts are always helpful! You or any other users got the skinny on the Strings/Bonus Disc content?Reverend Rhythm wrote:And you rarely see Allen on any forum... at least not as Allen! I've been looking at this sale for about a week. I would like to join, especially since I have some JamPointz I can use, but I honestly can't find enough sounds/samples left to choose from to even make the 6, let alone 7 if/when it gets there!
How is this possible? Well, thanks to all the good sales/offers over the past couple of years, I feel I'm kinda well set. I already have the ST, SS2 and Miroslav. Also have Sonic RAW Gold. And a whole bunch of VSTi's that would cover just about anything else.
My interests are in electronica and film scoring. So, I could get the Cinematik Collection, and the World Collection. A stretch would be that I could get the Acoustic Guitars, but sometime this week I'll be getting Real Guitars, so I don't know how much I'll end up using it. The Hip-Hop isn't too bad, and like others have said, could grab some sounds from it. All the rest, frankly I did not find them to my liking at all. I would have liked the Vocal, but did not like the demo. All the rest of the Instruments are not something I would be interested in or already overlap other VSTi's I have.
I would have been interested in some of the loops, but all of them are taken from Sonic RAW Gold. Now, I would have been in for more of the newer RAW kits, like the Miami Club or House.
So that's my dilemma (if you really want to call it that!) I guess I'm going to hold out for another GB, especially if the newer RAW kits are a part of it. But it's a fantastic deal if you like and can use the sounds.

Depending on how many JamPoints you have, this could be as low as $25. Frankly, even if you only got two packs that you "know you'll like", $25 is well worth it! Getting more packs as the Group Buy goes on shouldn't make the deal less appealing.
Worst case, just don't download any others!
Also, while you say you have RAW Gold, that doesn't cover any of the "Construction Kit" loop packs. Those are different material, and from all accounts there's some pretty good stuff in there. For "free", they're probably worth playing around with.
Finally, while I certainly understand your idea that you've got a lot of these sounds from other VSTs, there are some things that it's beneficial to have a wide range of. Pianos are one, IMHO, especially for some kinds of film scoring. You might have Alicia's Keys, or Ivory, and there's no question that those are much deeper instruments than anything in the Piano Collection Xpansion Tank. But that doesn't mean you'll never use them. Ditto Acoustic Guitars, Bass Collection, Acoustic Drums...

I'll echo what the others have said and tell you to e-mail Allen. I had the same question earlier and contacted him, and he was very quick to respond and was incredibly helpful (as a new esoundz member, now I understand why everyone raves about their support here!).Xenobt wrote:Hey Everyone!

Here is the folder list from the Bonus Disc:Xenobt wrote:You or any other users got the skinny on the Strings/Bonus Disc content?
- • Bonus Beats > (about 140 Loop Slice grooves)
- --SR Reggaeton Beats
--SR Rock Grooves
--SR Soul Grooves
--SR Vint Beatbox
• From Omni (which contains about 28 instruments from Omnisynth 1)
• From Studiophonik OT > Big Room Kits > Ludwig (1 kit)
• Orchestra MV > 1 orchestra patch
• SR Bonus Disc Combis > 24 Combis - --SR Reggaeton Beats
I honestly think you may be shooting yourself in the foot. I wouldn't discard packs based on the audio demos. You can do a whole lot more with EVERY SINGLE ONE of these packs than the audio demos even begin to suggest. Some overlaps here and there, but essentially each of these packs offer hundreds of great sounds to your collection--many of which you will probably be able to use at some point.forkol wrote:I've been looking at this sale for about a week. Personally, I would rather have 50 organs, and to choose the perfect one for a particular song, than to only have a few options and find that none of them work very spendidly.
Even the Vocal Pack, which has been dragged through the mud, has got some great sounds in it. Just one of the presets alone is worth the $3.57 for the sound pack if it makes your song sound better.

You WILL want to use them. Every pack has some gems.

Well, I joined again, and don't regret it at all. I now have all the multisamples except Hip Hop Collection, Electronic Drums and Vocal Collection. As esoundz bonuses I took Best of Sonic Strings and in my second round, the Squids Tron Extras. The latter was fantastic! I had no idea that the Harmonium was so extensive and had so many registrations. Looking forward to layer these with the Langegard Release samples from Precisionsound
Way to go Squids! Love the work you did here.

Wow. We're really rolling along here!
4420 users
580 left to 7x1
Spread over 6 days, that is less than a 100 people a day required, and we have been averaging that almost every day of this lengthy Group Buy. With today's mailouts, the joiners can only increase.
I think it is almost certain we're gonna hit 7x1. Which is great because that will give me EVERYTHING I didn't have already!!!!
I sure am glad that I decided to grab the construction kits. I encourage anyone who has their nose up about loops and construction kits to just choose and download ONE of those packs and play with the contents for an hour. Then make an informed decision about whether or not they might be useful to you, creatively, inspirationally, or just to impress a new girlfriend who likes dance music more than that amazing rock and roll album you've been working on for years.

Thanks for the sound list, Zedd!
To quote Apollo 13, "You, sir, are a steely-eyed missile man!"
I'll email Allen tomorrow to wheedle for us all concerning the disappeared bonus packs.
If anyone has any input/opinions about the various String collections, post 'em!
Thanks in advance...
