KTGranulator 1.1 released

This updated version of KTGranulator has improved audio I/O handling, which should make it easier/possible to use in hosts that don't support 1-in/2-out audio routings. Also, for the AU version, parameters are now in clumps, so that should make the generic UI more readable.
As usual, you can get it here...

Excellent Koen!
It used to crash Orion before, and I wound up using it in WaveLab to great avail.
Now I'll see to what avail this will work for me in Orion!

Yeah, I had fun with this in a couple of recent tunes. Great tool, Koen. (Matias' presets are rather cool too.)
Just a thought: would it be possible/worth it to have a stereo version, which traps left and right audio separately, and allows separate panning controls for each?

Hi there,
I'm trying to develop something very similar to this for PD and I was wondering if you had any good information that you might have used to put this class plugin together - I don't know if this is the right place to ask technical questions but it's for a university project and I'm getting kinda worried!

the basic way it works is:
in => filter => envelope follower => threshold/... => trigger
it's quite simple!
you can find most of these on www.musicdsp.org and they're probably all standard in PD anyway

As Bram said...Bram wrote:the basic way it works is:

You then also might want to add some inter-onset-time limitations and threshold hysteresis to allow tweaking against false triggers.

Oh boy, oh boy... Bram and I really need to read carefully first before answeringKoenTanghe wrote:As Bram said...Bram wrote:the basic way it works is:

Now, one great place to info about granulators like this one can be found at the site of Ross Bencina:
http://www.audiomulch.com/~rossb/
Look for "A draft of my Implementing Real-Time Granular Synthesis article" and the code that comes with it. I wished I had seen this before I started KTGranulator
