we're moving with insane speed now. i think i'm going to chose the ob over the vintage set. ss2 looks to have the same vintage content for the most part. ss2 has a huge amount of ob, but this multi sample set is going to save me a lot of trouble (detuning by zone) and sounds like it has new wave forms

I sure will! Thanks everyone!

I've been buying toy synths from flea-markets for him and I'm going to build a mini multi-tier stand for them so he can rock it out like dad! I bet his setup is going to be huge by the time he will be old enough to play with it. Later we can start "bending" them and learn about electronics!

I heard there's a special bonus pack for new dad's?
yeah it comes every few hours and you'll need the clothes pin dongle...

best of luck to the new and soon to be new dads!

Tip #1- Enya works miracles to get babies to mellow out...

+1
I have damn near everything from SR|IK and the OB expansion had very little overlap as far as I could tell (and I did directory listing comparisons)

Ceej wrote:Depending on how many JamPoints you have, this could be as low as $25. Frankly, even if you only got two packs that you "know you'll like", $25 is well worth it! Getting more packs as the Group Buy goes on shouldn't make the deal less appealing. Worst case, just don't download any others!

Also, while you say you have RAW Gold, that doesn't cover any of the "Construction Kit" loop packs. Those are different material, and from all accounts there's some pretty good stuff in there. For "free", they're probably worth playing around with.
Aha! I knew there must have been something else -- I didn't know the construction kits were *not* part of Gold! I'll probably now get in the group buy (see below).
Ceej wrote: Finally, while I certainly understand your idea that you've got a lot of these sounds from other VSTs, there are some things that it's beneficial to have a wide range of. Pianos are one, IMHO, especially for some kinds of film scoring.
I see your point here, but man, I don't know -- I think you can have too many. Take pianos (regular ones) for instance: I'll now have the Regular SampleTank, Sonik Synth, Miroslav, Acoustik Piano, Kontakt, VI One, Bosendorfer (Goliath), TruPianos, Independence Pro, and I know I'm forgetting a few others. It's great that I can choose, but it's getting crazy at this point.
zedd wrote:[Personally, I would rather have 50 organs, and to choose the perfect one for a particular song, than to only have a few options and find that none of them work very spendidly.
Yeah, having the choice is nice. But for bread-and-butter instruments, it seems like overkill. How many B3, Rhodes, TR 808s do you really need? There would be quality/sonic differences sure, but I would probably go with the first one that I like, and quit searching. If I needed more dirty, then I'll effect the instrument. But, like a good KvR'er with serious GAS, I keep going and going. Whoever dies with the most toys (sounds?) wins, right? :-)

Well, you two have pushed me near the edge. If this gets to 7x1 (or very near 7x1) by Sunday, I'm in. As Ceej mentioned, with JamPoints I'm near 1/2 the amount anyway.

That's the spirit!!

I will concede your point that there comes a time when you've got "too much". I still think, though, that for $25-30, it's probably not worth the time to think of reasons NOT to get in. You'll get like six to eight gigabytes of sounds, and if just one sound helps you make a song some day, you've got your money's worth right there!

I pretty much agree with this statement. But yeah at this point it is a total no brainer.
