I've sent this to Expert Sleepers but I thought I'd ask here too.
Has anyone sucessfully used Crossfade Loop Synth 3 in Mainstage 2? I can't load the synth version only the effect version. If I try to load the synth version it will revert to the effect version anyway.

I'll check this out this week. What's the exact version of Mainstage you're running?

I can confirm this. It appears to be a bug in Mainstage.
Logic 8 had a very similar bug, which Apple confirmed and fixed. I'll contact them about this new issue.

OK, that's a bit of a problem because I believe Apple won't fix it quickly as a small bussiness like ES would.
Is there some kind of workaround to force the plugin to act like the synth and not the effect version? Hacking some preference file or something like that.
Since I only need the synth version I don't mind if the effect version disappears in Mainstage.

You can hack the plug-in's resource file. Right click the component and do "Show Package Contents". Find the file ExSlXFadeLooper.rsrc in the bundle, and open it with TextEdit.
Roughly in the middle you'll see 'aumfXFlsExSl'. Change this to something else - e.g. 'aumxXFlsExSl

Great!
That works.
I love the speed and ease of work with XFadeLS. And now I also love the speed of ES support.
I'm good for now.
Many thanks!
