seems pretty steep for such a small thing, how big is the box??
i was going to pre order this but having second thoughts now, when the postage amount is more than the product itself!
(might be worth it if it was guaranteed 'instant' delivery  )

Courier and mail services are like lawyers: they always win because they've carved themselves an essential niche in the food chain. Here in Canada, I've too often spent 50-60% of a product's value to import it; it's like a major victory when I don't. Most US companies in the music supply industry don't give a hoot because 90% of their trade is within their own country. For example, when I updated to Trilian for $99, the shipping came to $60 all told (UPS of course; for an envelope containing a couple of disks). I agree that it sucks, but it's unlikely to change any time soon. The best you can do is try to get a company to ship USPS (US Postal Service) where rates are more reasonable and you don't get shagged with ridiculous handling and brokerage fees. But many don't even bother to offer that even if requested. It's made me reconsider many purchases and these days I only order downloadables or strict essentials.

There's also a cable available to connect a guitar to iPhone from Paul Reed Smith Guitars. I've buyed this 2 month ago. I think this should also work with Amplitube for IPhone. Maybe you get this cheaper ?

We don't recommend Guitarbud since it is really just a straight-through connector/splitter that doesn't have the components that iRig has that do things like the impedance matching and such to get the best signal in. We and others have had very disappointing results with solutions like Guitarbud, as expected (honestly, people had disappointing results with the software it was supposed to work with).

As far as shipping - if shipping from us to you is prohibitive there are many dealers that carry it or will carry it. Check http://www.ikmultimedia.com/dealers for online and traditional retailers and see if your preferred dealer carries it.
