Looking forward to the 8x1 !!!

As I bought in twice, I'm looking at which two libraries I should go for next.
So far I have these:

Vocal Collection

World Instrument Collection

SampleOB Xpander

Symphony Strings 2

Acoustic Guitar Collection 2

Bass Collection 2

Cinematik Collection

Electric Guitar Collection 2

Acoustic Drums 2

Hip Hop Instruments

OmniSynth 2

Piano Collection 2

Country Folk Rhythms

World Grooves
[/b]

I was looking at the sample arp solo. Any good?
As I only have 2 loop libraries, I was thinking of either Sixties Motown Grooves, Blues Grooves, Nashville Pop Grooves or Dirty South.
Any recommendations please? :D

I have both Omnisynth 2 and Piano Collection 2....

I personally don't love Omnisynth 2, find the sounds are not as good as I was hoping.

Piano Collection 2 has some piano sounds I really like, in particular upright piano is unlike any others

Post

Hi jrathkopf, what would you compare Omnisynth 2 to as I haven't had the chance to install the libraries yet!! Strange I know, but its been a little hectic at home with my little girl and her terrible two's and sleepless nights !!!

I think it's in the eye of the beholder. Some people like it a whole lot. andriodlove has an interesting demo of it. If you like the Obi Xpansion, you should like the Arp one too.

Amen Reverend, worth a gamble then! :D

Anyone liking Omnisynth 2??

Omnisynth is meant to give you general MIDI sounds in a smaller package - smaller than dedicated libraries. I think it compares to general MIDI sounds in synths, and like synths, some are better than others. The sounds I like in Omnisynth, I like better in the dedicated libraries. For example, I like the strings in the Symphony Strings better than the strings in Omnisynth. But if you like General MIDI, or if you want a library with all sounds covered, then Omnisynth is for you.

I hope that was clear... :nutter:

omnisynth will give you a few sounds not really found elsewhere... in particular woodwinds and brass are under-represented in the other libraries. so if you need those, might be worth it.

Cheers folks!
I have a good Brass library in Yellow Tools Independence, but variety is the spice of life. No harm having a few more. :D

cool Reverend, I see what you mean. I guess the Omnisynth is the software equivalent to say the old Roland Sound Canvasas??

I like it. I added a terrible "lead" to this older demo that I had apparently never exported - all 10 parts (nine instruments) from SampleArp Solo: http://storage.tinytoaster.com/ArpSolo.mp3

Edit - so we're always "in tune" with the tuning, all the detuned stuff is on purpose and done manually. :)

Really cool demo. Great vibe to it.

Great stuff Peter! Reminded me of Hawkwind. :hihi:
Def gonna get the Arp library as I am working on a (funny enough) Hawkwind cover, motorway city.

That's a great example of the ARP Xpansion! Nice demo!
