Hi Michael,

If the "lock" control doesn't work, there's a way to set up keyswitches to manually select the strings, using the layers. Let me know, and I can set up a patch with these keyswitches for you and save you that work.

I haven't downloaded Evolution yet, but I would like this patch too.

Would it be too difficult to make these patches part of the product, as updates, since they are done to make it more easy for users to use the instrument?

I think this would be a great idea, and will make a better product in the end.

Can you actually strum evolution guitar manually like Real Strat, that is playing chords with your left hand and up-/downstrum it with your right?

There are manual per-string strums (as well as mute and release keys) right above the chord detection zone, in case you want complete, real-time control over the strums.

I finally was able to get the fretting position control to work!

However, is there a way to "lock" the position? For example, if I set the position to say, 8, it works perfectly the first time I play it. However, if I stop, and then start playing again, it starts using notes from the 0 position, unless I bump the CC knob. Is there a way to lock the position at whatever I have it set at, and only change when I change it (and not default back to 0 when I stop playing)?

I just tested it, and it should be returning to the correct position. If you play outside of the fretting position, it will adjust the position in order to play those notes--however if you wait a few seconds, you should hear a fret slide noise as the fretting position reverts to this default set position (established by the "fretting position" knob).

Hmmm, it didn't work like that for me...

And, I was playing the same note (just to try it). When I first set the position, I played the same note 3 or 4 times, stopped for a second or two, and then when I hit the same note again, it was playing it at the 0 position, and no matter what I did (other than hit the CC controller I assigned to position) it would play it at the 0 position.

Also, when playing some of the squeals, I tried hitting the same note 3 times in quick succession (no stopping between notes), and it always plays the first 2 notes at the position I have set, and then the 3rd (and all subsequent notes) are played at the 0 position...

Are there any changes in the script for the lead patch since you sent out the RC patches a week or so ago? Come to think of it, my patch is built using the blank preset from the RC...

A couple more things while I am here!

What is missing from the light patches, compared to the non light patches? Also, if I create a light patch, is there an easy way to copy all the settings to a full patch, or do I have to create it all from scratch (using the same settings)?

I don't remember if that's something that got fixed since the release candidate beta, so I'll just email you the final core files.

The light patches only affect the legato, since it plays the legato samples in DFD mode rather than from RAM (more realistic, since it supports features to improve the legato sound). If you want to convert a normal patch into a light patch, all you have to do is go into the instrument settings, make sure "edit all groups" is on, and change the sample playback mode to "DFD". (I can provide more detailed instructions if you need to do this)

Will there eventually (or sooner) be an update with pitch bend knobs either per string or a global pitch bend adjustment for the lead guitar? As discussed, this would make the library/instrument more playable for midi guitarists, I think. We'd need possibly one pb knob for down 12 and one knob for up 12 as global adjustment and better per string as shown in the Gtak video.

I still haven't had a chance to check out the Gtak video, but I'll try and figure out how to get it working.
